Want to see some pictures of my Willy?
When I first started to collect R/C I was never really interested in the Wild Willy. Even when I came across a huge stash of WW1 parts about 10 years ago that would have restored 3-4 vehicles, I never got one. Instead I sold it off to finance other follies. Then I found one at the flea market which was beat but runnable. I realized how intricate and over engineered the jeep was, I knew I wanted a pristine example.
I started buying really nice looking Jeeps and new parts. Then I ran across this Wild Willy 1 that was supposedly new built which turned out to be maybe one or two runs. I Switched out a few parts. Stripped the body and repainted. I went with the darker of the two Olive drab's Tamiya produces. The driver figure was painted by TC member Fabrizio and the detail is just phenomenal
This Dead Willy 1 was built from the best stuff I had leftover. It's a runner with a futaba magnum jr. radio and Futaba ESC. I bought Dead Willy's skull at Disneyland. It was a keychain in a trinket shop. I got the inspiration to use him when I caught my dog chewing on my son's GI Joe helmet. It looked like bullet holes so i went with it.
Wild Wendy 2 Was built basically for Wendy. A TC member who is a sculptor made the figure and custom painted it to resemble my Ex. I modified the hood to accept a motor from a Muscle Machines toy. I sprayed the front grill with alclad Chrome paint and installed the working head light bezels made by another TC member. I modified the Sees aluminum wheels on a mill to accept the shorter rear axles that the to WW2 has

I never thought you'd post a picture of a girl riding your Willy online.

I usually avoid looking at Willy's (not my thing) and there have been times where I was afraid that I might be intimidated by one, but I got to say nice Willy!

Re: Want to see some pictures of my Willy?
I'd like to add a bit of information that some don't know about with the WW1. There was a short and long wheelbase version. The easiest way to tell the difference is by looking at the side metal brackets that the ladder bars attach to. The SWB version had a hole, and the LWB version had a slot like shodog's. There were also some changes made to the gearbox assembly between the two versions.

Hats off to you Mr Shodog, those are some great and unique WWs. The Wild Wendy is probably my favourite just because it's so different.
