Tamiyaclub.com Hacked
Just thought I'd let you guys know (as I suspect there's a few more like me who are members on Tamiyaclub) but their site has been hacked and the following message is displayed on their home page
Monday 27 Feb 2012:
Tamiyaclub.com has been attacked by a major hacking team. We have been forced to take it offline until we can say the extent of the damage.
In the meantime I recommend anywhere that you use the same password as on Tamiyaclub you CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY on those sites
PLEASE NOTE: Tamiyaclub has NEVER held any financial data about any member.

Re: Tamiyaclub.com Hacked
It seems to be going around. 3 sites I host got hit. They are getting to the htaccess files and making them redirect to Russian sites that install malware. I suggest updating the password to the cpanel of the site, the database and anyone who has FTP access as a safeguard for this site. Also ask the hostin company if they have any security measures in place. Mine didn't and wanted to charge me to add it to my account

Anybody know what the motivation is to hack something like an r/c car site? Either a message board or a retail store? I don't get it.

Access to customer/member accounts, potential admin-level access to change passwords, then as a result of that, a whole lot worse could result...MelvinsArmy wrote:Anybody know what the motivation is to hack something like an r/c car site? Either a message board or a retail store? I don't get it.
I think the fact that several of the sites being hacked are all RC-related sites should be particularly troubling. This isn't just a random attack on a single site, but a concerted effort to specifically target that niche.

I had no issues either--but if this site gets hacked tomorrow, we'll need to change passwords again.mikea96 wrote:I change my password this morning here on 10 talk and was able to log right back in with my new password.

Re: Tamiyaclub.com Hacked
I had one of my sites hacked years ago, At the time it was a contest between hacking groups to see who could out hack the other lol, Kinda childish. I actually found my site listed on a scoreboard, I cant for the life of me remember what hacking group it was now, I know the group was out of Turkey.
This is also the reason i have never used any eCommerce scripts for selling things on my sites, every site i setup would do all billing through paypal.

just checking to see if there's any information to access money.
you won't believe how many small towns keep that info in easy to reach places.

Wow, I had no idea. I guess I can understand the criminal motivation then, not that I approve of it obviously, but at least there is a motivation. People doing it for fun or a contest among hackers, that I don't get.

Re: Tamiyaclub.com Hacked
A lot of it is pointless. Just cyber vandalism really. Of course everything I know about hackers I learned from the movie Hackers.
Angelina Jolie bears her breasts in it though.
Decent flick I thought. I hope they get their problems resolved over at TC though. I bet there are a lot of lost souls without that site. I'd be lost if I tried to come here and it was gone.

Few of these programs ( like this one ) are designed in that neck of the woods- wonder if this was a running plan?littleVETTE wrote:the russians are in it more for the money, than the hack.

I seriously hate all hackers with a passion. Get a f**king life! Why don't you idiots hack ebay and lower the fees or something? Do some good with your skills for once.
