vsefirearm, that is a great looking RC10. I really like the RC Carbon Works parts on it, I may look into what they offer, I need a battery brace anyway.
I agree, Carbon Works stuff is very nice indeed. The choice was easy for me, the car was missing both towers, trans brace and a few small items when I got it. It was a no-brainer, RC Carbon works also had them on sale.
As REM mentioned once you start upgrading, it's a slippery slope. I had to put the hardcoated shocks on it once I put the carbon worlds style towers.
A pic of the front end so far, the discoloration on the chassis, motor plate, and nose are really starting to bother me, I may have to find a new chassis, etc. for it if I can. The shocks are kinda in the same boat, I may buy some hard anodized shock bodies.
Got the slipper clutch on. I'm using the manual for the CE, and in the instructions there is a #6586 thrust washer and thrust bearing. Mine had a bushing instead of the thrust bearing, is this something Associated did or the previous owner? I'm also missing the two 4/40 x 3/16 screws to mount the gear to the hub. The nylon nut also has to go.
So this is where I'm at right now on the rebuild. I may end up tearing it down again depending on what parts I decide to go with, I may get the blue screw kit form Associated and replace everything, since I am missing a few screws here and there.
First post and an absolute newbie. Always wanted an RC10 as a kid but could not afford one. Got a vintage one from a person who restores them. However, the tires being 20+ years of age started tearing up after several runs. What tires do you use on...

Thanks for the input jwscab and NomadRacer. I will look into them. :)
This thing is a FRANKENSTEIN. It started out simply as a clean RC10CE Graphite (with Bushing, couldn't afford bearings at that time).
I was in the 4th grade at that time, so I really couldn't afford too many things. I would scour the track for worn...

Tom, great to see you made it over here. I was digging through my boxes the other day and found a white battery cup (and other assorted AE related parts). Its yours if you want it, shoot me a PM and we can figure out how to get it to you.
Hello all. I am new to the RC10Talk forum. I just finished restoring an RC10CE gold pan B stamp with a stealth transmission survivor from 1992. The car is mint. I am having a Penguin Protech 2 reproduction body and reproduction 90’s TQ Worlds style...

I used stainless welding rod. Easy to find and has a nice finish.
Hey guys, I’ve seen some cool T2 based buggy builds including Scr8p’s RC10 1.5 builds. I thought it would be cool to build a car as if Associated had designed the RC10 championship edition 1.5 version. So here it is.

Robin Hood Raceway first meeting day 1
Wow! Thats a pretty extreme track with all those jumps & ramped corners, certainly more so than the tracks I used to race when I was last into off-road. Is this the track thats sort of behind a farm & near...
I picked up this XX on RC tech. Got it for $30 shipped, so I figured I'd take the parts I need and sell the rest on E-bay. When I disassembled it, I found it was in pretty decent shape. It looks like it wasn't run much but when it was assembled the...

Automotive stores (or departments) will also often have smaller cans of acetone, look in the auto paints section.
I picked this car up recently, it's in very good condition. A prior owner dyed the wheels, servo saver, rod ends and some other misc. parts purple..... I don't like that and will be replacing those as I go along.
I plan to run Lipos and power a...
