Could go best of both worlds, and do a Monte Carlo Rally version on the 12e... still a rally car, but predominately paved roads (and snow and ice!).

I like this idea! Use the RC12E, get HPI Cup Racer Decals and go with the Alitialia livery! Paint the wheels with Pactra yellow!
I'm liking that decal sheet! It would save me a ton of time lol! Unfortunately bitd it would have been all paint and I really would like to keep the body "1977". I am loving the 12e fitment, and I can still have it look aggressive without it really being an off road setup.
I may have to just grab that cup racer body for another project. I didn't realize there was one
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
If it fits the way you want on the 12e then put it on there. There's tons of other Stratos cars you can model it after besides the Alitalia car.
The Alitalia car is the most recognized Stratos because it's the most often seen, and therefore it's also the most often replicated, but it's not necessarily the best looking Stratos ever raced.
was hoping to get some recommendations from the board.
I have $1500 to spend, want to get a Kyosho offroad EP to bash around, hope you can help.
I won't do any races, just drive it around for fun, it needs to withhold some punishment.

If I had $1500 I would buy a NIB Kyosho Ultima Pro and build it and put it on a shelf. But that's just me. Then I'd probably buy a cheap (real) used car. :D
I have collecting parts for the past few months after selling off all my old RC10's(big mistake!!!) and now I am going to build 4 cars!! #1 I recently picked up a mint Worlds(later all black version) car that needs a cleaning and body trim/painted....

Thanks man! I think I'm going to leave it alone. Bought enough parts, and have enough B4 parts to make another runner out of that cut up gold tub!
I was given this by an old friend, and am trying to find any info about it. Looks like a Dirt-Road 10. Thankfully, it looks fairly complete. I dont know what my plans are for it yet, but most likely I'll clean it up and it will be a shelf queen. Any...

Well it definitely has value which is what someone would be willing to pay. Keep an eye on eBay for what ones go for. Judging by the pictures, it appears to be in a pretty poor state but looks to be mostly complete and original minus the body. Once...

Thanks very much mate. Will post pics of the 12i soon. Meantime still hunting down the 12i with the mono shock front suspension as that is a car I had in my younger days. That is proving hard as nails to find.
Ok we all know the RC10 came along and blew away the earlier Tamiyas etc as far as off road racing goes, but does anybody know what the first 1/10 scale buggy was? Was a it a Tamiya?
I've gotten it into my head that I want something for some pavement bashing that handles best on pavement.
I originally wanted a pan car, but the pavement I have access to is broken.
It looks like LOTS have happened for the in-between buggies and...
