Thanks! I've been playing with the nerf bars and I was able to use them to push the body out over the rear tires more. I'm going to smooth them out now and clear coat them. I also found the individual nimh sub c cells I need to build a 6 cell 4500 pack and will be ordering those today along with a receiver. I just about got the body ready for paint too so we should be able to see what this thing will look like by Monday or Tuesday.

BTW I'm shipping the 1/12 Vega Funny Car body to TBG today. If all goes well we should have lots o' funny cars to build soon.

I've got one planned too believe me. I've got a big fat set of 1/12 rear donuts that look like they belong on a steam roller. I know what to do with all those skinny Bolink front donuts I have too. I can't wait!

That car is looking evil, love the front bumper you built along with the special touches like the litesink, angled bottom plate, painted chassis, shock mount, etc too 8)

Thanks guys! I had hoped to be done with painting, but I've still got more to do thanks to a mistake I made. Touch up in the morning then. I'm calling it a day!

You can get an idea of how it will look at least.

Almost done with this project. Just need to get the cells to make a battery pack and finish up the wiring and tie rods.

Still needs lots of touch up,but you get the idea. Make sure you have plenty of patience for the HPI decals! They don't exactly fit the windows perfectly. Ditto for the paint masks which is why I have lots of touch up to do.
Image

I cut out the side window trim using an exacto knife as the HPI decal just wasn't the way I wanted it.
Image

I laid down the yellow pinstripes using Pactra striping tape.

Still looking into reproducing the Sunoco stickers. Or perhaps I'll leave it as is.

I thought someone made Sunoco decals, I think Parma or Autographics? I have a set somewhere but have no plans of letting them go!

Autographics did make them, but long out of production. Not sure if Autographics is even around anymore. I'll have to make them myself anyway as the HPI Camaro body isn't exactly to scale so I'll probably have to shrink them down a good bit.

Finally got some time in on this project! I've got all the Lunsford and Dubro goodies installed for the front suspension and even put on a set of Lunsford Titanium Fat Boy motor screws for added bling. A NOS Associated stock motor and Novak T4 speed control to get her moving and a HiTec 2.4ghz receiver finish it off. The wiring is Novak 16 gauge with Deans pin connectors. The cells will arrive Thursday and I'll build my first saddle pack in years. Hope I don't blow myself up.

This is version one of the car. I've decided to get parts for another complete front suspension so I can just swap them out when I want to run another body. You'll see the new body I've got for it soon. It will have wing. Brushless might be in my future for this one too.

Looks great! I gotta ask, why did you bring the linkage off the front of the arms tho? Seems like it would have weird Ackerman

The body won't fit if I put the steering blocks in the normal way because they will sit too far forward. I've already got the arms sitting back one space which is why I have the extra screw holes on the bottom. Flipping the arms around too gave it the final extension it needed otherwise that body wont fit at all. The arms are actually on the other way around too so the whole thing is altered. That's why I'm getting a complete second front suspension so I can run it the normal way but with a body designed for the wheelbase and width. The altered version I have set up here allows me to run other bodies that normaly wouldn't fit this car. I don't think the steering linkage should be an issue but I'll find out for sure this weekend.
