-- Rules --
Classes: 2wd, 4wd and Classic 2WD
2WD:
Models limited to production year 1994 and earlier.
Minimum weight 1474g
Motor limited to 17.5T brushless.
No ESC limit but should be set to 0-timing/blinkymode and no reverse. Forward/Brake only.
Batteries limited to 2S LiPo or 6 cells NiMH.
Swedish Edition slicks-tires or Schumacher Mini Pin/Mini Spike with the studs cut off to act like slicks tires. Fronts are optional as long as the tires are studless and made for a 2WD buggy. Odorless tire traction additive is permitted.
Other electronics like radio, speed control and steering servo are open.
4WD:
Models limited to production year 1994 and earlier.
Minimum weight 1588g
Motor limited to 13.5T brushless.
No ESC limit but should be set to 0-timing/blinky mode and no reverse. Forward/Brake only.
Batteries limited to 2S LiPo or 6 cells NiMH.
Swedish Edition slicks-tires or Schumacher Mini Pin/Mini Spike with the studs cut off to act like slicks tires.
Odorless tire traction additive is permitted.
Other electronics like radio, speed control and steering servo are open.
Rules regarding modifications to cars in 2WD and 4WD class:
Modifications are fine provided that the custom parts keep the original shape. If the motor is originally mounted in the rear end of the car the motor should continue to do so. Approved modifications could be copies of an original chassis but in carbon fiber, upgraded gears, other belts, and also repro parts and bodies.
Option parts that were on the market back in the days are also allowed. Do you want to run an RC10 with MIP 4wd conversion, you are welcome! Option categories that were not invented back in the days are banned, such as big bore dampers.
It can be difficult to find 2.2" rims with correct offset for your model, but don't worry, the rules does not regulate a maximum width within reason.
Classic 2WD:
Models limited to production year 1985 and earlier.
Minimum weight is free
Motor should be a Tamiya Sports Tuned. Same for all participants.
Batteries limited to 2S LiPo or 6 cells NiMH.
Free rubber tire without studs. Front ribbed tires are permitted. 2.2" wheels alowed.
Odorless tire traction additive is permitted.
Other electronics like radio, speed control and steering servo are open.
Modifications are permitted as long as the car looks like it did when it was manufactured; also repro parts and bodies are allowed. Replacing a locked axle with a differential for instants is permitted. Time typical options as well.
Examples of cars: RC10 first version, Tomahawk, Scorpion, SRB, etc.
Other:
Re-releases / reissues of cars are okay to run with. Just be sure that the re-release doesn't have a modern chassis like the Sand Rover and Holiday Buggy. They come with a DT-02 chassis which is not allowed.
Race set-up:
3 rounds of qualifying, 5 minutes each. Top 2 results counts.
3 rounds of finals, 8 minutes each. Top 2 results counts.
Max 8 cars in each final.
Transponders:
To be able to participate you need a personal transponder of the AMB/MyLaps brand. All the red ones are supported. You might share transponder with somebody as long as you don't run in the same heat, same class works. You are all individually responsible for having a transponder mounted and ready before your heat starts.
Entry fee:
200 SEK for the first class
150 SEK for the second class
100 SEK for the third class
Time table:
To be decided
Tires:
The “Swedish Edition 1:10 Slicks” could be found in several Swedish hobby shops and here is an exampel.

Letting the fwd back in 2wd huh too cool!
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: 2014 Nordic Indoor Vintage Challenge
Initially I couldn’t find the time to be in on this gathering in February. A bit of thinking and I couldn’t resist! Really looking forward to take the trip from Norway to Sweden together with SHY and meet you guys in Eskilstuna!
The Fox was my first real car, and I soon got a full Hot Trick conversion with RC10 shocks and Thorp drive line. Actually I was the only one known to have the Hot Trick Red Fox in Norway at that time. Custom fees and trades profit made Hot Trick awfully expensive here… Since it was a one of a kind, my car got the nick name Pensel Fox, as I used to be called Pensel one the rc car scene. I just thought this would be a fun drive to bring…
Still have my Hot Trick Red Fox but it's a part of the museum exhibit I made here in Norway (viewtopic.php?f=33&t=27601), so I will have to build a new one for the race. If I find the time maybe I will go for a 4wd as well. Problem is that cars I could have used suffer from being stuck in museum displays. The cars I have at home are mostly very much projects.
Thank you for making this real!
