Cutting belts down sucks, 6mm is off-the-shelf and cheap. Plus it's pretty tough! You can get them on amazon for about $4, a little more on sdp but the main thing is that they are all available. Same with the pulleys, want to overdrive the front? $10 for an aluminum 14t pulley and your done. Nothing custom

The belt is too short currently, so I have a proper one on order. It will likely need a tensioner of sorts but I would prefer to not have any if possible. That's one reason why in not a fan of driving off the center gear, belt is really low and needs an immediate idler on the bulkhead (although on the slack side)

Progress report for today...
Trans spaced out, topshaft braced and no machining or special parts needed except my brace Front caster block modified for width and caster. Currently at 6 degrees measured on the car. This part will be one of the custom parts made for this version, along with the trans case and possibly the rear bulkhead Lastly, I have carved on the case and it's getting pretty small. It's not MIP small but not too bad

Nice work on the motor mount spacer/support.. what size bearing is that in there?? I have a jrx2 that I want to add a bearing to support the slipper shaft... also the front trans looks great.. I have been looking at pictures of the MIP part to see what they did to get the profile lower in their version.. going to see if the instruction manual is available in the scans section or online.. I think I remeber seeing someone who did a model of theirs on here.. I am going to keep searching to see what they did to help in the developent of yours..

The mip was a lot smaller due to no diff, only two gears, and smaller gears.
Myfordcnc did the gearbox you speak of
