Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica
Since I'm doing the exact same project in 3D and am giving my work freely to the world so people can have the parts made on their own minus the chassis, I don't see the harm in asking if he'd be willing to do the same thing. After all, I didn't demand that he should. It's called a question. If he isn't willing to, no big deal. It's not going to stop me from continuing on my own version of the project. I may have to rethink my willingness to share now. Perhaps I shouldn't.

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica
If you look at Niki's Shapeway's store, he's already got the bellcranks, rear arm mounts, and front bulkhead available for sale! Very nice. Way to go Niki!

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica
After comparing the dimensions of Niki's '91 parts to my scaled diagrams that Fred has been using to build the 3D models they look to be identical within a fraction of a mm. We are just about ready to have the chassis cut so the reality of a '91 Stealth replica is not far off!

The question isn't "if". It's "when".

Re: 91 Masami Stealth replica
I ordered Niki's parts and once I receive them I'll line them up over my scaled chassis diagram. It's very important to make sure that the front bulkhead mates properly with the top deck and that the bell crank doesn't interfere with the top deck. There's practically no margin of error in those locations. If all of that checks out then the locations I have marked off for the stand off post holes can be added to the CAD models and the chassis can be cut. Worse comes to worse and I'll have to add a couple of mm to the chassis width.
I also have a shop that can machine the standoffs. That may not seem like a big deal but since they are so close to the edge of the main chassis (2mm) it's important that they are made to spec. As Jake can probably attest to, once you start a project like this you all of the sudden realize things that didn't seem like they would matter that much end up making a difference.
