You might be able to rescue those tires. Put a small amount of acetone in a margarine or yogurt container, then place the container and your wheels & tires in a plastic bag, then seal the bag. You're not putting them IN the acetone, just beside the container. The acetone fumes should break down the CA cement. Take them out of the bag in 24 hours and see if the tires will pull off the wheels.
That's a cool idea. I purchased wheel/tires that were cleaned up in acetone and to my surprise the tires were way way smaller than a normal set DS tires. oh and they were hard as hell. they made for for shelf queen tires but the size reduction just took the originality away. i basically kept the wheels and dumped the tires.

i have lots of wheels to save and will definitely give this a try.

It works surprisingly well. I've purchased used aluminum wheels with remnants of torn-off tire rubber and blobs of CA glue stuck to them. Just do that procedure and the next day, you can practically wipe the crap right off the wheels with a cloth or toothbrush. In the past, I would try carefully chipping or slicing it off with an X-Acto knife, and risk scratching the wheels.

Hey when trying to get hex adapters for the rear your best bet are the Associated 12mm clamping hex (sc10 rear) Part no. 9892.

They are wide enough to cover the entire axle all the way to the threads. If using narrow hexes the smooth part of the axle sticks out pass the hex and doesn't allow the wheel to sit properly on the hex. The wheel then wobbles no matter how much you tightened the nut.

If you do use the narrow hex you'll need to enlarge the hole on the wheel and then use shims to take bu the slack between the nut and the wheel.

The wider hex is the best way to go.

Just my opinion :D

oh that's clean and mean. nice build.

I pretty much have the exact same hub, wheel, and tire setup on my DS rebuild. The tires were toast after only like ten packs. I only have a tame 21 turn BRUSHED motor and old NIHM's running through it. not a powerful brushless setup like yours. The tires were wearing out straight through where the tops of the sidewalls meet the tread on both sides of the tires so it wasn't a an excessive positive or negative camber issue. Kinda bummed me out as those HPI wheels are the perfect size and offset for the DS and the only tires the fit are those HPI tires that seem to wear poorly.
