I think I have figured out an "interesting" workaround....hope to cut it out tonight it keeps the T plate. Links are the next option if it doesn't pan out

I wondered if anyone would catch that

Looks great! I have had similar aspirations of a build like this. I guess the only critique/suggestions I would offer is to mount a micro servo on the pod for throttle and break, and to mount the fuel tank above the t-bar to keep the weight centered. Either that, or two small tanks connected with tubing under the t-plate.

Re: Been thinking about this for a bit....Nitro 12L3
The problem with two tanks is that in series one will drain first (tweak issues) and in parallel will suck air. Mounting the throttle servo to the pod would be simple but it is a lot of weight that would be unsprung. That's why I went cable, and it looks like it will be pretty smooth. The Thunder Tiger 1/10 nitro pan car did that.
I didn't get to the special tplate this weekend but I will. It should solve the tank issue

Re: Been thinking about this for a bit....Nitro 12L3
I gave up everything I did to center the fuel tank messed up the t plate. Thus, its on the right. Laid down the throttle servo and basically just needs a receiver pack to be ready to run
Sure looks cluttered up now

Re: Been thinking about this for a bit....Nitro 12L3
how about going back to flipping the servo to the front, then put the tank in front of the shock (taking place of the servo), and put the receiver were the tank is? or does that create a body mounting issue?

Re: Been thinking about this for a bit....Nitro 12L3
If I was to flip the steering servo there would be room. I tried playing with tbars and making alternate suspensions but it got too far away from the 12L3 design. Really a custom tank would be best. I mmayplay with it more this winter

Yep tried that, that's why there is a new chassis . The stands needed and height of the shock were still too close. Need more vertical. Also made a funky t bar that went around the tank. No bueno lol. I didn't even take pics

Jeff looks good enough to compete. Is there room for a split tank design if you relocate the receiver?
You should start the gmoachv RC company:) Great Work!

You could use dual tanks with two Y or T fuel line splitters for equal pressure and return.

Crazy out of the box idea - If you go custom on the tank, a horseshoe design would be awesome. On second thought, the engine would pull air during hard cornering:(

Re: Been thinking about this for a bit....Nitro 12L3
Yup, that's the issue with dual tanks too. You can run one as a header tank but then you still have balance issues. I'll run it the way it is and see how it goes first
