Showcase's Composite Craft RPM World "Worlds" car

Post by Showcase1186 »

Been a while, but building a Re-release worlds car with RPM worlds wide arms based on a composite craft chassis. The purpose is to compete in a local vintage race "with an edge on the competition"!

More details and a complete Bill Of Materials to follow. I've reached out to composite craft for custom changes as well as RPM. Stay tuned.

Hi Showcase1186,

I'm not 100 percent sure, others here will know but I think you need RPM rear suspension mounts.

I had a set here for years but of coarse I just recently gave them to RJ/RC10th, otherwise I could

have compared them to your screen shot.

Cheers, Dave. :)

you will need rpm rear arm mounts, that show up on ebay from time to time. Many many MANY people have asked RPM to reinstate the correct parts for this chassis to no avail, so my best regards in getting anything out of them.

You need longer arms overall like the original rpm arms or, the klien arms that are used on a lot of WOIN cars would be suitable for this chassis, otherwise, it will end up being very narrow. the key parts though will be those rear arm mounts.

take close look at the rc10 car of the month, which is what you are attempting to build.

looks nice otherwise!!!

Agreed. a CC/RPM Worlds car uses only a few stock RC10 suspension pieces. At the very least you would need RPM Worlds rear arms and mounts. Rear hub carriers are different but you could probably get by with stock ones. I think a stock bulkhead can be modified and used. Not sure about the shock tower as its been a while. Also, you don't seem to have the correct Worlds front arms or shock tower. As it is now, this thing must be very narrow.

I sure hope you didn't drill out those rear mount holes in the chassis for 8-32 screws since the forward holes are supposed to be 4-40!

I had an original CC Worlds and also RPM's full plastic version a lifetime ago. Definitely cool cars, something different.

What changes did you request of CC and RPM?

Thanx for the info guys. I spoke with Jason at composite craft and had him custom cut a new lower chasis for me that will accept the normal rc10 rear suspension. I'll have it early this week.

I wanted to do that a couple years ago when the "woin" thing was still big but never pursued it.

Finished it minus the electronics. Figured I'd share some pics. I ended up scoring a used original RPM worlds car and pulled the suspension arms / mounts off that and put it on the composite craft chassis. I went with my old colors I used to use when I raced back in the late 80's and early 90's but kind of a Kinwald tribute.
