Hotting up a Hotshot
Started in on the hotshot. Not sure I'm good with the magazine version but I wanted to try it first
This is just the mock up so far

Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
I just started my build and its stock for now but I have some Supershot parts but have no idea how to mod the shocks to fit the Hotshot. I was curious about lipo as well - but haven't gotten that far yet.
This looks interesting - will be watching this thread.

Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
That's a fine looking start, I have a very similar TMS chassis to that which has been collecting all sorts of dust. Let me know if you need any parts for your build as I have a metric ton of Hotshot stuff.

Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
supershot has some funky brackets that slide onto the arms and some bent metal towers. I found a manual and looked up the pieces, they dont look very tough. I have the CRP mono shock mounts and the CRP rear dual shock mounts that come off the roll cage that I have duplicated and will be using them. I plan to mod the front for duals also at some pointRC104ever wrote:I just started my build and its stock for now but I have some Supershot parts but have no idea how to mod the shocks to fit the Hotshot. Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
This is so cool and a much more stiff box frame than the stock version or even the one advised in the article. I wonder if this will have any effect on the drive train efficiency (a little less twist perhaps). I spent the last 30 minutes looking for the lowest price on a Hotshot. Between this and Ten4 I will likely wind up in the poor house...

Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
Had to add a little more rigidity. Not shown, but the newest drawing adds small wings to the lower so you can strap the battery in. I have an associated bellcrank in it, and minimal bumpsteer (without shimming it yet)

This looks amazing. I think the provisions for lipo are a huge step forward.

Re: Hotting up a Hotshot
Funny you mention that. I want to do a hornet next based loosely on the Spica style chassis
