To build, or not to build... That is the question.

Post by Smooth »

If you received a early rc10, or whatever, still sealed up in the box would you build it? Or let it sit sealed up in the box?

Depends on what I paid for it, and if I want to make or lose money in the future.

Man. I wish I had that dilemma. One day at a time. You can always build it later. I would rat hole it and try to forget I owned it. Sort of a rainy day fund for morale not cash.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

If you have not built it you'd wish you'd have, if you had built it you'd wish you hadn't.

The choice is yours.........

A one way street, if you have not built it you will always have that option.

But if it gets built, you can never really return it to that unbuilt condition. :)

voila - one is reversible, the other one not.

But there are some kits that you'll WANT to build - like this full metal early 80's AYK, or whatever because nothing will ever feel like building a kit like that. If you do so, take your time and enjoy the process, because indeed this about halves the value of your NiB the moment you tear the seal open. Not saying to not do it, but think about it. When you make that call, go for it and enjoy :)

Unless you pass away or get injured or it gets stolen or there's a house fire or any of a myriad other unforeseen reasons that might pop up...heaven forbid, of course! What gives you pleasure today may not be an option tomorrow. :)

that's the thing. the moment you HAVE it, is when you start thinking differently. I have a few crazy NiB's at home which I wish I had never bought as they give me chills in the spine when I look at them. That very dilemma you're talking about.
