Thank you that answers it. Was having trouble understanding all the talk about this.

I assume the re-re worlds bearings press into the idler gear and that assembly rides on a shaft that seats into the stealth tranny housing (in the china made stealth trans case). If this is true, will the Re-re worlds idler bearings fit into the ASC6565 case such that the only other part needed would be a replacement ASC6570 idler? Or do I need a set of bearings too and if so does anyone know the size or PN?

It's the same bearings, just relocated. No need for the idler though, you need the Robinson Racing idlers that have the extended shaft for the pulley to fit on

I haven't run my Ten4 in ages, the poor thing ended up having various parts robbed off it and was sitting collecting dust. Well, I finally decided to get it back together and track ready. I replaced some missing bearings, turnbuckles, and other hardware and added one of my transverse shortie pack mounting sets, since all I run now are shortie packs.
Unfortunately I'm not making it to the track this week or next, but at least it will be ready to go next time I'm out

The caster blocks and steering blocks of the Ten4 have always been a bit of a weakness. The SLS nylon printed parts just aren't as strong as molded parts, and on high stress parts like those they don't always hold up well in crashes.
Shapeways is introducing a new printing platform, the HP Fusion printing system. Still nylon, but supposedly with much higher density and equal strength in all directions. SLS parts are weaker in the Z direction than in the XY direction, but supposedly this is not the case with the HP parts.
I ordered a set of caster and steering blocks made with the HP system to try on my Ten4 test car. I plan to run the car first with SLS parts and see if I break them, and if I do I'll replace them with the HP parts and see how they hold up.
Visually the parts look more like molded parts to me. They don't have that rough/gritty surface of the SLS parts, more of an "Orange peel" surface.
The good news is that the price of the HP parts seems to to be about the same as the SLS parts, so if these seem like an improvement they should be the same price for you guys.

Good news for anyone out there that might have wanted to build a Ten4, but missed the availability of the Robinson Racing input/Output shafts. I'm going to make a few sets. I've been running a modified stock nylon idler in my Ten4 test muel this whole time with no signs of wear and tear. As such, i will be modifying stock AE idlers to have extended shafts like the RR parts, with the idlers pinned to the shafts. Thanks to Jeff for giving me the idea to pin them at the end of the idlers, on my early prototypes I was doing it in the middle.

So far I have made fixturing for the milling operation to add the slot and made one part to figure out some details of my setup. Seems to work pretty well.

I'll post a thread in my business section when they are for sale with all the info, for anyone that may want them.

Maybe It would be a good opportunity to turn the end of the shaft to a metric measurement and try and get a roller clutch on the pulley.

Hmmmm. Could just use a one way needle bearing. Let me look into it. Been thinking it was time for a Ten4.1 anyhow, I've got some other little changes in mind too.
