Update!!!

Post by Seabass »

Hey guys I have been a stranger the past several months and things have really been hectic for me. I managed to keep in touch with most but some of you definitely got left out and I apologize. I am turning things around slowly and hope to be more active here. I will be updating information for the Nix91 and Nix10M as both of these kits are going to be made available. Stay tuned for info, and if you did not get a question answered please resend as I want to make sure everyone get s questions answered as needed.

For those of you not on Facebook, Jake is in talks with a material supplier to get the NIX91 kits back into production.

For those of you not on Facebook, these are coming back. Jake found a supplier for the panels and just finished up cutting one to check fitment. Says it won't be long.

Not sure how much Jake checks in here, so if you want to get on the list you may want to send him a pm so he gets an email notification.

Cool. Maybe I should have waited.
This is a tad frustrating. Do ya'll reckon that Jake has forgotten that he has his own section here on this website? Anyway, it's great that he'll be able to produce the kits again. :D

We'll see  it just seems like he has many irons in the fire and doesn't know quite how to manage them all and the communication that comes along with it. I suspect that is why his Facebook and RC10talk posts are months to years apart.

At any rate, I, like many, would love to give Jake my money, lots of it  and have been trying to get a response from him since January of 2016. Email, PMs and Facebook messages, with not a single response :(

I really don't know what to say. I don't know Jake or his circumstances but from his posts here he seems like a person of good character.
So I'll just make a wild guess. I'm probably just stating the obvious but when you have a family, a business and financial commitments, you'll need to allocate your time to what yields the greatest reward and for Jake that probably isn't RC.
If that's the case then I certainly can understand.
I've read a lot of what's been written on this website related to the "NIX 91" project and I recall when the kits first hit "the market" in late 2014, it seems (at least from his posts) that Jake was working like mad to fill orders (evenings, weekends, etc) plus a day job. In the end, he probably netted what... maybe a couple grand from kit sales? I probably wouldn't have done it. And today, I would guess (since I don't know for sure and I could be wrong) that demand for this kit is even less than when it was first introduced.
I hope Jake is able to crank these kits out again but if he isn't, then I can accept that and appreciate the work he and Nikki have done to have made this car a reality for a fortunate few. It's pretty clear that AE has no interest in doing it.
