I can’t believe you’re alone on this Paul and would even dare to say that a vast majority of the 30th anniversary kits has remained untouched since they were bought by collectors. There is indeed a very limited number of built kits available on the web. Most people bought the kit and stored it to resell at a premium later...Lonestar wrote: ↑Tue May 15, 2018 9:23 amI thought I was the only one! The thing is, you buy it because you want it, it's gorgeous and you get the historical significance. Then when time comes to start thinking about building it, a small voice in your head starts saying "you know that amazing packaging which you are now gazing at in awe - the moment you crack that first plastic bag open, it's all over... no more fancy packaging unity, no more WOW effect when you open the lid"... and then, when you'v overcome the first little voice, there's a second one that starts saying "the moment you crack that first plastic bag open, it's lost 50% of the (hefty) price you paid"... so you're like, fudge it, let's put it back in the box, I have plenty of other (late project) cars to work on anywayAsso_man! wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 4:45 amI can’t believe you’re alone on this Paul and would even dare to say that a vast majority of the 30th anniversary kits has remained untouched since they were bought by collectors. Back to the project: the 12mm hex adaptors work wonders and offer the right wheelbase and stance front and rear. I’m unfortunately missing two smaller spacers. Shims have been ordered. I couldn’t resist installing the spare alloy c-hubs I had laying around.

The whole body will be painted from inside and only a few tiny stickers from the original decal sheet will be used. As I type, everything is being vectorised to produce custom masks!

Yep! It’s being done by a French specialist who has vinyl plotter:

Finally some news from the painter! It's going to look killer. I need to progress on the custom chassis now

This project is moving along slowly, but the body is almost ready! A few stickers are still missing, some finer details need more attention and windows will be lightly smoked. Almost everything is painted and masked!

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

I like how your car is turning out. Can’t wait to see the final project.
I’ve been lucky enough to score a runner 30th anniversary chassis. On my car the wheelbase looks very good and is much better than the 40th chassis. The wheels are of high quality and more like racing wheels. They are two piece but unlike the brittle two piece found on the 40th anniversary that crack all the time . The wheel is solid and the center just bolts on and they are staggered a little bit.

Re: - YR-4 Special with Porsche 934 RSR Vaillant-Kremer body -
Made some progress on the body shell. All nicely painted and decorated. I have to retouch the rear bumpers and find a smaller black ribbon for the door outlines as the one that is on now is a tad too thick IMO. Otherwise I'm quite satisfied with the result although the painter could have done a more precise job in some areas.
The body will be completed with a LED kit and a magnet-type body clamping system.
Now onto chassis drawing and cutting!
