Looks great! One of my favorite color combos. It would be cool if you could source a gold wire to put in place of the usual red positive wire to the motor. If you plan to wire it that is.

Grand idea, I suppose a yellow wire would do the trick! I have yet to find a good motor to put in it, but I don't think I'd wire it up. The original car calls for a crappy stock Mabuchi, and I don't think anybody who'd buy this would ever actually run it, so I doubt I'll install modern electronics. I haven't even reinstalled the original MSC, though I have it and it's intact, except for the metal bracket for the resistors, which was broken when I bought the car. The assembly was simply electrical-taped to the chassis.

Excellent job so far! I can't wait to see the finished product!

The red shocks are actually quite good. Have you tried rebuilding them? They are comparable to Tamiya's CVAs.

Nah, I'm not going to bother. I'll probably sell this car, along with all the original parts that came with it when I bought it, stored in a Ziploc bag. The suspension with these gold shocks and fairly light oil--I think I used 25W--works very smoothly. To put the red Ninja shocks back on this Shogun would seem a crime, to me.
