Original stealth slipper: 6594 + 6587 modern replacement?
Hi folks,
has anyomne come across a modern, more-or-less equivalent replacement for the original stealth slipper spring, aka p/n 6587?
On another note - was there anything so special about the "thrust washer assembly" p/n 6594 - looks like plain washers to me, maybe hardened?
Thanks all!
Paul
(yeah I know the V2 is better but I'm not interested )

Still available at EuroRC in Finland.

IIRC the diff spring on the RC10 classic (6gear) is actually the same size as the stealth clutch spring, the original 6gear diff spring being slightly larger.

Re: Original stealth slipper: 6594 + 6587 modern replacement?
I'm going to revive this thread for 2022.
I am wondering if some of the slipper issues I have had are due to an old springs.
Is there a spring that is in production that can substitute?
Does anyone have information on the 6587 slipper spring for the v1 stealth?
Does anyone know the spec's of the spring to order it from McMaster or Grainger?
I might as well ask about the 6 gear diff spring 6628 while I am here.
I see a few on ebay in the $15-20 range each and that seems a bit much.

Possibly.
I have an old one somewhere. I'll check fitment later.

That would be awesome. Do you have any way of testing the strength of the spring?juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 2:11 pm https://www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-slipper-tension-spring-tra1994/p-qqqwqsyqpzxxactz?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_begn7Oq9QIVQbyGCh3r5wKyEAQYASABEgK44PD_BwE

That Traxxas spring should be similar.
I found a place the end of last year that sold springs that matched the associated spring pretty closely in bulk. I'll have to dig it up. I think I figured out that something else is readily available. Maybe a Schumacher one? I think I just searched on Amain for springs.

I see a few springs that seem like they could work, but posting here first is always seems to be the way to go. I don't to get a spring that fits but is too soft since the slipper will need to be clamped all the way down , or that is way to strong so it could never be adjusted correctly.jwscab wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 3:09 pm That Traxxas spring should be similar.

I am getting of of KidAgains CF slipper pads and want to give it a fair shake.

Oh also, for the hardened washers, I found a losi kit that has an assortment, useful for a few things.

The Traxxas spring is a little larger diameter but it does fit.
A piece of 3/16 tubing will fit inside of the spring. If I were going to try one, I'd use a short piece of tubing as a locator. Looking at Amain, there are a few slipper springs that look promising. Schumacher has a couple. They are only ~$3 each, so I may find out soon.

I had several newer AE bagged parts that had the 6582 Stealth diff thrust spring that fit on the 6571 top shaft.

That's a good point John,. The thrust spring and original slipper spring are super similar. I always mix them up if they are thrown together in a bag or box.
