Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
The instrument panel and storage containers are printed and painted , I also got the new Mabuchi RS380SH motors are fitted with the 12t pinions instead of the stock 10t pinions and even just testing in the living room its faster , spins its tracks on the Lino ! I'll get some video of it tomorrow if the weather is good for a few minutes.
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
No video but I have driven it outside and its much more like the speed it should be , not fast by rc car standards or even as quick as those Rip Saw rc tanks but its fast enough to show the limitations of the old 27meg Heng Long control system and steering ! It also kind of rocks forward on the suspension when it stops like the real ones !

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Not seen a nitro blizzard in person but found one on YouTube 2 speed ? The carrier is probably faster than first gear but not as fast as second gear , I'll try and get footage soon.

Looks perfect speed-wise.... it's a scale model after all, not a race truckDadio wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:18 am Here's a very poor video just really to show it works and the speed of it .

Great work, Dadio. The level of detail and scale realism is to be applauded.

It looks pretty darn good to me. Plenty fast for a tracked vehicle.Dadio wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 11:18 am Here's a very poor video just really to show it works and the speed of it .

I'm still amazed that this was once just spools of plastic wire. You sir are a genius.

Hah, I run mine with pride!! I also do like to watch from the bushes though... Looks killer! Bell does seem to be a bit critical of your work in one photo though. At least it's not full fruit bowl!Incredible_Serious wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 6:23 pmDid Thumbs teach you that? I heard he likes to hide.... and watch...

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
Thanks people , I think the speed is just right for what it is , as for hiding , no I don't , I'm a 51 year old bald , fat guy and I do WW2 reenactment , when I'm in my British uniform I look like captain Mainwaring from dads army ! So being seen with an RC car is nothing !

Re: Dadio's 3D Printing Stuff
I can't really explain it either, but I feel the same way. Something to do with a funny looking, bearded guy playing with toy cars in public, maybe. I don't run and hide, but I usually pretend to be occupied by something else as to avoid any eye contact.
Back to the topic, I agree that this is an amazing build and the results are very impressive. I'd still vote for it.
