This is the truck in my avatar pic. It's a highly modified clodbuster axle truck with a carbon fiber chassis I built and lots of internal beefed up parts in the axles like TTR shafts, HR metal gears and such. Well after about a year & half of running, this truck was starting to show some wear and tear on the body, and after blowing apart the rear axle tubes last week I decided to drop some coin and order some Hesse custom aluminum axle tubes. After getting the Hesse parts in last week I decided it was time to give this truck a bit of a face lift. Got a new King Sling body showing up on Friday. Planning on airbrushing the body yellow & silver (sort of a Chip Foose style paint scheme). So stripped the axles down a few days ago and couldn't resist taking the aluminum tubes and parts to the polishing wheel and using some compound to get them looking real sexy. Thoroughly cleaned the axle cases and shoot them with some yellow enamel followed by four coats of clear. Also polished up the bumper/servo mounts as well as the axle braces. Burned some midnight oil tonight getting it back together. Will post more pics of it once the new body is painted up.
This is how it has looked for the past 18 months, only body is lot more damaged now.
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.
Decided to give this truck a new facelift. Been a fun truck for the past year or more but was starting to show some wear & tear. So added a full set of Mike Hesse aluminum axle tubes and took them to the polishing wheel before installing them. Also polished the aluminum knuckles, aluminum bumpers, and the stock axle braces as well. Put some shaved Renegade tires on it and topped it off with a fresh airbrush paint job on a new body. The old body had the King Sling name so I wanted to change this one, but still somewhat keep the name. So I had some custom decals made in mirror chrome as tribute to one of my favorite Metallic songs from back in the day.
