I'm thinking about getting a newer AE buggy (like an RC10B74.1 or similar) but I just can't stand the 'cab-forward' look of modern buggies. I've not had any luck on the internet looking at the usual suspects for aftermarket bodies with more of a traditional rear-cab look, especially ones that are designed for these new ugly buggies. Has anyone managed to improve the look of a modern buggy without just resorting to trial and error to see what fits?
PS - my background is all Vintage Tamiya and Kyosho (which I still use) so I fancied a buggy I can thrash/break, not get too attached to and can get parts for easily...but I'd like to be able look at it without throwing up!!!
I just had breakfast with Boki yesterday and he is working on that!

I’ll pass that along. He is semi local- about 2 hours away

I'm all for the old-school look and used to think the same about the modern bodyshells. However, after running the modern stuff for a while, I think the shells look good on modern buggies.
Maybe after a while you'll get used to the look, too? Or, maybe not. Each to their own.

@Dirtburner - that's a lovely colour scheme, which chassis is that...Yokomo I assume?! Still not sold on the forward cab but if that's the price of being competitive then maybe I have to roll with the times?!?!
The cab-forward style didn't put me off enough and I bought the B74.1D kit in the end! I've found a couple of slightly different style bodies but they're all still cab-forward designs so I looks like I'm stuck with it
To be honest the incredible engineering of the modern chassis has me completely sold on the new designs and I can live with whatever it looks like...although I'm experimenting with paint schemes to see what I can do to personalise it a bit!
Some of the cab forward bodies look really good IMHO, however there are some that look absolutely ugly. Slightly more controversial, all the modern full scale SCORE buggy classes are now cab forward as well, and I personally think most look ugly. But, as discussed in the past, cab forward in scale buggies isn't necessarily new, there has been plenty of cab forward bodies in the past.

Thanks for any pointers

The LFR A2 Tactic body by leadfinger is the best B74 body I've seen. I bought a few last year. They have a more mid cab look. Only slight issue with them is that my ESC only just fits under it as the sides slope downwards.

Thanks for that...it's a better looking body (although I am starting to like the one I have now I've painted it!! ). The LFR body looks lower at the front than the original body, do the original body mounts still fit with the A2 Tactic?
The title says it all, what are, in your opinion, the best looking off-road buggies ever made? Ipost some images too!
I'll go first and say that one of my favorites is the proline déjà vu tu for the b2/b3
I'd be intrigued to see what some of you guys have done to mod your off-road buggies for on-road/touring car use. I think many of us have thought about modding our off-roaders to mount a 1/10 full body, but how many really take the mods to the next...
This project started out as collaborative experiment with scr8p. The idea was to test various combinations of parts and figure out which ones would allow the use of those Delrin Klien arms he discovered at Dynotech, together with B4 CVDs, wheels,...

Thanks for being so prompt scr8p!
My friend Scott Sjobakken was one of the guys who started this website and put me on to what you all have done.
This is my first vtg buggy build (not counting my Turbo Optima that I built when it wasn't vintage)....
How long should it take to charge 3300 NiMH batteries? I realize that the type of charger may make a difference, but just give me an average idea please. Last time I charged them I think it took like 30-45 minutes! Seemed like a real long time. I'm...

I ran Venom 3000Mah Nimh in my cars for a while. Some packs are crap, and others worked pretty well. I stayed away from Lipo because of all the horror stories of explosions I was hearing. Now I'm running Lipos in my bomber class car, and it's a...
Hey guys: Before I start, I'm not done yet. I thought I'd post a few pics anyways. This is my version of the RC10 with newer parts we're all building. I call it an RC10 Evo. I've used the Dynotech suspension arms to fit B4 wheels/tires and a...

Greetings all! I've been having fun lately with my recently resurrected Factory Team TC3 that I've had since it was new in '92 or so? I think the TC3 is a great car. Very adjustable, light, works great, etc, etc. Enjoyed it so much that I bought a...

Well that's a bummer to find out. Still, I'd take Taiwan made any day over mainland China. Most of the high end gaming computer motherboards are sourced from Taiwan.
Anyone here racing an older 'vintage' Yoke up against the newer 4wd buggys?
I'm going to start racing 4wd mod again, curious how the Yokes are stacking up. I don't see there being a huge difference, driver is 90% of it. My local track is fairly...

IMO, the Yokes (YZ-10 and newer) were designed to be raced. These arent' just bashers for the yard, I've never run my Yokes like that. I had other RC's for that. My Yokes have always been my racers. They're are born champions and I believe even a YZ...
