Reversing a Rx Signal Without a Reverse Switch on Tx?

Post by morrisey0 »

I am trying to wrap up my Sledgehammer, and have run into a snag. The Traxxas 2201 Tx does not have St and Th reversing switches, and my XL-1 ESC is interpreting forward as reverse, and vice versa. I could reverse motor wires, but I don't know if the XL-1 will go full throttle in reverse (doesn't seem as powerful in reverse), and it will still show the red led while going forward and that will bother me.

Would something like a signal reverser cure this? https://www.amazon.com/Servo-Signal-Reverser-Rotation-Inverter/dp/B095PJ16HQ/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=servo+reverser&qid=1653158253&sr=8-5
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

It should do the trick but you can also open up the transmitter and flip the two outer wires on the throttle pot. Just depends on your comfort level but it’s super easy

Well, one of those options involves taking things apart ................ so that is the clear winner! :D

My memory is fuzzy on that transmitter but under the area where the antenna goes for storage- isn’t there a piece of plastic tape that covers switches?
