A new car for the project shelf…
This 870c was previously owned by someone who should be banned for life from using a screwdriver or drill so there is some work to be done
I can fix most of the damage so finding parts like the shocks, ball studs and front tires is going to be the most difficult task. I think AE shocks are going to be easier to find. Might go for a set of those.
I‘d even trade the new Kyosho Pro XRT chassis I’m using to prop up the car for all the missing parts

I didn't realize Novak also licensed a receiver to Duratrax. This seems like a good item to use in a build with my DTX4 ESC. They'll make a smurfy group. I wonder if there's a blue Duratrax servo.

No blue servo from Duratrax but there were some available in that era. Can't recall the name of the top of my head. They were from the UK iirc

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
A rear light bar for my Hilux showed up from Shapeways. These things just don't exist in the wild, and I knew there was one listed on Shapeways, but it was listed as not available. I contacted the designer through SW, but heard nothing back. After more and more searching, I kept ending back to the SW version, and then it hit me, I recognized the designer's name! I had conversed with him on tamiyaclub about Hilux stuff previously. I contacted him through their site, and within hours he had "unlocked" the design long enough for me to make my order, and after a couple of weeks, it is here! This should be the last "major" piece that I need to complete this time / money sucker!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Picked up an upgrade (of sorts) for my NIB Tamiya Comical Hotshot kit. It's not built yet, but when it is, I can choose between a red body and a blue body. How cool is that?

Came across a nice little bundle. I think the Race Prep motors are really cool! Good memories of the local fast guys.
