Once we have a look at the rere and verify they didn't move too much stuff around we should be able to offer those

Wow what a great build. Nothing too tight or too loose. Everything there, although at times I was thinking man an extra eclip or screw here and there wouldn't hurt haha. The spine is very weak, 1mm thick g10 and flexes like crazy. First thing on the drawing board will be an upper brace. They used yr4 style covers so no drilling needed to add a brace. Highly recommend the build, but I can't wait to see what we come up with for it. I'm thinking my first will be the 89 Masami chassis.

I will say, not much is compatible with original as far as chassis and layout. The towers are taller, the chassis narrower, the bulkheads completely different in mounting, motor mount is shifted, etc. LOTS of changes.

There is 1 running at a big meeting here in Nz this weekend after a practice day today the big thing I can see is it needs way more droop for outdoor real off-road tracks.

Is this a consequence of using longer shock towers and shorter shocks? When Fan RC put the comparisons up on Failbook between original and re-re parts I was thinking is this change to accommodate more modern carpet tracks? A solution would be to put on older style towers and longer shocks.

This is no a re-re but a modern take on the 870c design.

Chipping away at mine

I have a 89 worlds conversion kit that I got from Fan RC that I am using on it, most of it fits after I re-drilled the chassis using the new one as a template. if you go this route make sure you have a dremel tool! it isn't pretty but who cares since this car has undertray

the dogbone length is funky, normally the kit uses the 422 length which is too long for the re-re diffs so I ordered a set of 421s.

Here is mine with our 89 Masami conversion added. Not a lot of room with old school cells for sure. Tried adding the lipo to the other side but just not enough room even with the shorty servo. Ended up leaving it in the stock rere location.

That is looking really good 8) Are those lunsford turnbuckles? Are those the Fan Rc shocks as well and if so how do they feel?

The turnbuckles are copies for an RC10 that I found on Ebay.

Shocks are from Fan RC. They are really nice, they come with seals, all the hardware and springs but you can use any associated sized spring. Same with the pistons
