The manual states we have to supply our own pinion.

What kind of pinion is suggested for the truck?

I have a really nice vintage Trinity Slot Machine '91 that I could put in there.

At the time the 10T came out in '91 with the Stealth trans. 48 pitch gears, internal and spur. I have no reason to believe the rere 10T would come with anything but 48 pitch gears. All that said, you will need a 48 pitch pinion gear. Some guys may be fitting 32 pitch external gears as a preference.

As far as spur/pinion ratios.....that's gonna depend on brushed vs. brushless motor, #of turns, type of driving ("bashing" vs. racing, etc.). Basically, smaller pinion = more torque, less top speed, longer runtime.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

AE just posted an 'RC10T Talk with Cliff and Curtis Part 1' video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VqzAM-wAbQ

I am so happy to see that Cliff and Curtis are still involved with AE -- with Cliff as senior engineer consultant and Curtis as racing product development director.
According to Linkedin, former company president Shawn Ireland left AE late last year and even former marketing director Jeff Johns (Axial's founder) left AE in March. According to Dun & Bradstreet, AE's CEO is Sheng-Chieh Su who is also CEO/CFO at Thunder Tiger. Perhaps AE is looking for a suitable replacement for Shawn?
Whomever is chosen to run the show, I hope AE will continue to produce championship winning race cars and honor Roger's vision for the company.

Venturing way off topic here but Doug is pulling on a thread and post that I've been wanting to make for awhile. This is also potentially a charged topic and possibly a somewhat sensitive one for vintage fans and old thinkers / reminiscers such as myself

Likely these posts should be moved into their own thread, sorry in advance

I've been pretty convinced that Shawn's exodus from the company was likely not his choice, unfortunately.

In fact, Shawn still is looking for employment:

So yeah, according to Shawn he's been gone since year's end, but we can see the wheels were in motion as early as September 2023, likely earlier:

On paper at least, Sheng-Chieh Su is the replacement for Shawn. If I was a betting man we will likley not see a domestic replacement for him, especially with the significant players at AE in California approaching retirement age.

Even more slightly controversial is the rumor being that the folk in California were not interested in vintage re-releases, at all, and this was a significant driver in the changing of the guard and mandating (forcing) the re-releases.

Yes, call it a money grab, but nostalgic suckers such as myself are extremely happy the re-releases came out

Well, it's the 15th and we're venturing into "late June" territory.
Man, this month is dragging.

Yeah, I feel like I have a lot to catch up on after my 30+ year hiatus, yet it somehow feels like it's right where I left it... Thanks again for all this amazing info!

Welcome aboard, Alan.

I couldn't have RC's when I was a child because the wheel hadn't yet been invented. :D

Getting close to the end of the month, wonder if we will start seeing them ship soon?
