Great idea if anyone has the initiative, but would say all profits to the site.flipwils11 wrote:Wow, I like the tuber and the black/gold. This may sound cheesy even amongst other fans of little toy carsbut what about a top 12 RC10 builds and someone could do a calendar with pictures of each? The price could include a donation to rc10talk!

I 2nd that... Except... I dont think the theme should be "The best 12 cars period" I would rather see an idea that represents who we are and what we do here. I am sure we can find 12 examples of the RC10 that capture that idea without making anyone feel that their car wasnt "one of the 12 best" Some of us have thick skin and others...well? We would need 12 themes, then nominations for cars that fit each theme. Some months it would be pocketbook vs pocketbook and other months, persistance vs. persistance...and others? Pure imagination.

that calender idea is a great one! I think shutterfly does them, and I'm sure there are tons of other places online as well. no minimum order and 20ish dollars each. cool thing is they can start on any month so it doesn't have to be an end of the year thing.

I agree with Siebenelch's car being probably the most influential car on the forum.
After that I really have a huge soft spot for Mig's green nose car, that inspired a lot of people (including myself) to make more personalized parts on the cars
I also really love the gold racers of Ruf, and the car formerly in Doug's stable.

I agree with the calendar idea. I've had my Honda Civic featured in one a few years ago on another forum and there are several places to have them made online and price usually depends on quantity.
The greatest builds for me are the Fibre-Lyte/Tecnacraft/MIP 4WD buggy(asso_man's maybe?), and the HyperDrive and TrackMaster conversions by railey72.

I have to say the Cedric's replica cars are on the top of my list for projects that may be even better that the originals.
On the runner cars Siebenelch's definitely the most influential fallowed most recently by Harris and Ruffy's runners.
Siebenelch's
Harris's
Ruffy's

Man.... I love this photo...
These among a lot of outstanding project cars that we can find on this forum and this forum only...

No hop-ups, no aftermarket stuff, Love it!

My most prized RC10's are the same basic ones we always ran while with Team Associated & Reedy.

Re: What's the single greatest RC10 build of all time?
Glad to hear a lot of folks are behind the calendar idea. I have to caveat though that I don't have the time to take it on, so I apologize for dropping the idea out for discussion and then ducking out! But if someone is willing to take on the work (the shutterfly idea is good, my wife uses them for family photo albums), there should be some kind of nomination thread with pictures. The only other complication I thought of was the need for good photography skills with setting up a backdrop of some sort and taking the photo. If the calendar crew is really creative, poses in dirt, on rocks, or some sort of outdoor setting might be more photogenic than a white backdrop.
I also really like the idea for Doug/railey's cars like the carbon fiber/tecnacraft pan car, Miguel/Miami Vice's green nose car, and some other stuff. Not sure if the theme should be old is new builds or vintage hop-up part builds, vs recreations of original racers or box art replicas (or a combination)?
There I go, tossing out more questions!

Re: What's the single greatest RC10 build of all time?
I am only thinking the influence of these cars in general to motivate other people to race or build or make parts or what ever. It is all about remembering the Old days and having fun with them, racing or building.Ruffy wrote:Can't be my runners, as mine are just box stock RC10 CE's /Team Cars/Worlds RC10 buggies that are all stock, as this is the only way I like to run them, and honestly feel they run best like this. Re: What's the single greatest RC10 build of all time?
Its to bad Alex from INET is not around anymore his Real Racing cars are at the top of the list for me along with Ruffy's builds. I think it would be cool to do 12 years in 12 months maybe start off with Ruffy's prototype car and his edinger as a duo for january not saying they should all be stock but the model and hop up should be accurate to that year and model of rc10
