Beautiful find and very jealous! As others have stated, I would NOT do the peroxide bath for those parts. I would never want to risk it for a minimal (if any) improvement.

Lol, you guys really know how to twist someone's head!

Think I'll leave the plastic to breathe normally. As much as I'd love to have the parts 'whiter than white', it would just be too much of a risk. Especially considering the fact that I'll probably never find another BNIB kit at the same price. I'll do my own colour scheme on the shell, but may do this with another protec shell. At least I can then keep everything original without succumbing to the box-art pressure.

Appreciate all the feedback guys!

As much as I'd love to have the parts 'whiter than white',
FYI - Back in 1985 those parts were not whiter than white

This may be answered in one of the stickies, but do we know why the parts were off-white rather than pure white?

My early car which has had 0 UV exposure is a deep cream color and its even throughout all the parts, my slightly later one is off white, all even color. The RC500's
for example are that same cream color.

I wouldn't touch the color of the plastic. I might be inclined to throw them in some just-boiled water for a few minutes to help give them some flexibilility. Letting them absorb some moisture after all these years probably couldn't hurt.

Its ok since its a late edinger....its really a cadillac rc10 not an edinger.....the late ones just came in leftover edinger boxes but everything about them is cadillac..so its not that rare,,,,even the chassis is a darker gold color....so you can find many parts to replace them if you dont like them after the peroxide bath.....

Your exactly right, I'm sorry we didn't tell you what you wanted to hear in your thread. Next time just let everyone know what to tell you in advance and we'll get it right.

i'll second the hot bath for the new parts. i throw them into a pot with boiling water and a couple of teaspoons of salt. they'll last a bit longer.
