Very nice!! I just finished a rebuild on the very same car.
It's going to be a great running for you.

Here's mine:

I did a Worlds type treatment to it with RC Carbon Works parts and hardcoated shocks.

Thanks for the advice, I think with this build I want to keep it period correct though who knows, it may go in a different direction.

vsefirearm, that is a great looking RC10. I really like the RC Carbon Works parts on it, I may look into what they offer, I need a battery brace anyway.

Carbon works stuff is nice...Once you stray from stock it will turn into a custom shortly after...One cool part leads to the next cool part

I agree, Carbon Works stuff is very nice indeed. The choice was easy for me, the car was missing both towers, trans brace and a few small items when I got it. It was a no-brainer, RC Carbon works also had them on sale.
As REM mentioned once you start upgrading, it's a slippery slope. I had to put the hardcoated shocks on it once I put the carbon worlds style towers.

It's funny how stuff always gets piled on the slot car track! At least I don't feel so guilty now!

Yes Steelhead. I like to build them then move on to the next one. I listed it Sunday night. I have a few others in works that need parts.

Yeah, thought it was yours. If I didn't already have a CE I'd be all over yours.

A pic of the front end so far, the discoloration on the chassis, motor plate, and nose are really starting to bother me, I may have to find a new chassis, etc. for it if I can. The shocks are kinda in the same boat, I may buy some hard anodized shock bodies.

Got the slipper clutch on. I'm using the manual for the CE, and in the instructions there is a #6586 thrust washer and thrust bearing. Mine had a bushing instead of the thrust bearing, is this something Associated did or the previous owner? I'm also missing the two 4/40 x 3/16 screws to mount the gear to the hub. The nylon nut also has to go.

So this is where I'm at right now on the rebuild. I may end up tearing it down again depending on what parts I decide to go with, I may get the blue screw kit form Associated and replace everything, since I am missing a few screws here and there.
