Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Then someone put the wrong grub screws in there. The only other thing close would be a 1.5mm metric and it’s a larger allen

Just now took a look, and someone has already replaced all the bushings with ball bearings! Saves me time and money! I did clean them all out though, and re-oiled them.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
I must've tried every single wrench that would be close to fitting known to mankind on these grubscrews. Nothing I have, nor have gotten from the store will fit. I dont know what else to do, but I may have to get new arms and front shocks.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
it's probably stripped. try finding a hex key that doesn't quite fit(too big), and grind a small taper on each facet of the hex. Then you should be able to jam it in there and unscrew it. or you can just force the issue, hammer out the pin. will probably wreck the pin, or the arm, however.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
The set screws are probably .050 like Jeff said but they round out really easily, Your best bet is to get them out with an MIP allen key these are presision ground and will not round out, and will get right into the corners of the otherwise stripped hex. If you know any racers maybe they will have one to lend you.
Or if you are going to stick to this hobby just buy one .050" or 1.3mm they are exactly the same.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
I will try that.
I've accumulated even more parts. Octi-Grabs...Novak 410M5, a trailing arm kit. Its sucking me in!!

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Well, since I cant really do anything until I get the shocks off, I decided to try to clean up the chassis some. Aircraft paint stripper works great! Have the Nylon parts soaking in Simple Green, then all the white parts will get a bath in Hydrogen peroxide.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
personally, I wouldn't do the hydrogen peroxide unless you really need it. The white parts are really more of a bone color, not bright white. See how they come out of the simple green. your white parts look pretty good to begin with.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
The main reason I was doing the HP was to prep them for dying, as i was going to dye them black. Do i not need to if i just soak them in Sinple Green?

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
No hp is not needed at all.
Dyeing parts is just like Easter eggs. Lots of threads here. Rit dyemore for synthetics is what works best these days. Put dye in pot with a little water. Heat up on a grill to just below boiling. Add all parts at same time, keep checking every minute(black can be however long you want). Take parts out all at same time.
I use an old pot and an old strainer.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Sounds good! I'll dye them after I drive it for awhile, for now I'm just going to get it mechanically sound.
What's your guy's opinion on the best looking body for this? It would be a simple black paintjob. Maybe some white.

Re: RC10 B-Stamp Resurrection.
Hahaha that's a loaded question. Some guys love the protech. Some guys love the mirage, some even like the viper. Then you have the entire aftermarket. And of course the protech 2 and sidewinder.
Of the associated bodies, I like the mirage and protech 2. The original protech is growing on me with the right cut and slamming it low.
I also really like the jammin jumper.
