Team Car rims and tyres

Post by Caine »

Hi have just scored myself a team car but with random tamiya style alloy wheels(no idea of the make) now i'm bidding on some rims on ebay with okay tyres but want some spares as well so i've got a couple of questions:

Is there anywhere in the states you can still get original rims? I know i can get the duratrax ones which fit new tyres and some from jc racing on ebay but really want originals. There is a stock of 3 piece and one piece fronts at a distributor here but no rears, its a pain!

So on to the next. Without buying the new style rims can you still get any tyres to fit the original rims or am i just gonna have to keep searching the bay.

Thanks

Ebay is your best shot- the TQ rims that would go to that car ( original anyway ) are 2.1 front, 2.0 rear and not all that easy to come by NIP. But there are a few Imex versions that fit and are period correct that are plentiful on the bay and fairly cheap.

But the B3, and B4 rims will fit, and will fit current 2.2 tires-

B3 and B4 will fit you say! Do they go straight on. Am eager to try now but i am reading this in work. Wait till i get my hands on my spare b4 rims later! It begs the question why didn't i just try them in the first place!
