Re: which font to use ?
To me, it looks like plain ol' Verdana 10-point, bold.

Re: which font to use ?
Its funny I spent 45 minutes looking and couldn't find anything that matches exactly. I even ran the font through a number of online identifiers with no luck.
Here it is enlarged for reference: I typed treehugger in Verdana 10-point bold and then enlarged it and its close but not exact either.

Re: which font to use ?
From what I can gather from the style sheet, it's "Lucida Grande" if the client has it.
Further refined with the following style:
Although, I don't have Lucida Grande on my machine so it goes to the next in line which is Verdana.
Also, don't forget that web browsers typically use "Pixels" as a font size setting where-as text editors typically use "Points". 12px and 12pt is not the same, px is smaller.
Code: Select all
body {
/* Text-Sizing with ems: http://www.clagnut.com/blog/348/ */
font-family: "Lucida Grande", Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
color: #FFF;
background: #242424 url(images/body.gif);
font-size: 10px;
margin: 0;
padding: 0 5px;
}
Code: Select all
.postauthor {
color: #FF9000;
font-size: 12px;
margin-bottom: 3px;
font-weight: bold;
}

Re: which font to use ?
I would say the large majority of non-serif fonts used on websites are Verdana or Tahoma, which look quite similar. Serif fonts would most often be Times New Roman.

Re: which font to use ?
Glad to help, Paul. I've done a bit of website design in the past, and my favorite font is probably Verdana.
