this is quickly becoming a pet peeve...

Post by GoMachV »

Seriously? Did EVERYONE have to drill holes in different places back then? Was servo tape ever that bad? I'm dying here trying to find a decent c stamp

To the younger viewers, a drill is a tool that was uses back when we had to put kits together by hand. A kit is something that isn't rtr. I know, weird concept. At least today's kids won't be drilling holes in their soon to be vintage RC cars. Although whoever runs across one of those narrowed T4's will be scratching their heads!

Idle hands are the devil's playground and Dremels were oh so handy. You're right though, it sucks. I Dremeled anything I could get my hands on!  We all just had too much time on our hands as kids.

those are the perfect tubs to cut down (holes drilled high). you don't have to go super low to eliminate the holes.

I was thinking the same thing 8) could be worse, the bottom has all the original holes and no more!

What's your choice of cutting tools? I can't imagine getting a great cut off a dremel or any rotary tool really. I guess with enough patience.....

Aluminum screw and steel screw throws off the balance - plus looks wrong  (I've been watching Monk reruns lately).

Oh jeez, don't look at my runners then... I use whatever screw I find first that fits.

I agree with Scr8p on this one, that is a prefect chassis to cut down. A dremel and and DA sander will make quick work on that and look professionally done.

Get to cutting...
