RC-10t sport

Post by K-TOWN-KITT »

Here are some pics of my freshly rebuilt RC-10T sport. This truck has composite arms (I think), the updated rear bulkhead, cvd's, bushings, soft Proline tires all the way around, gold shocks, has the later nylon tranny brace, is a B stamp, and has a uncut 6130 body. The ball ends are the ones that have the 6 sides that go all the way to the end. This perticular truck has never been ran. well mostly never ran. The tires and front spindles are used. Oh yes, the spindles are the updated ones. There was a scratch on one of the rear shock bodies so I put a new set on. The chassis has the mount holes for the inline battery tray, not the offset. This truck also came with a manual esc. I have to get a set of white servo mounts. I think the truck is all correct but not sure so if you see something that is not correct, please let me know.

Looks great, looks like an early-mid 7011, if it is a 7011 I think the rims should be 3-piece, and a 6122 body, I'm sure the 6130 body is for a team truck.

Thanks. It does look pretty good. The only thing is that the nylon is quite yellowed. It doesn't show up that good in the pics. Personally, I like that because it shows the trucks age. Whats that buzz word thats going around everywhere these days? Oh yes, patina. there is a big contrast between the white color of the rims and all of the white, I mean yellow nylon.

I remember pretty well my first rc10 and the parts were nowhere near as white as the ones I see after a peroxide bath. It removes too much of the tan color IMO. My new built 6010 and mostly new 6010 truck conversion sport slightly tan colored pieces, and they look correct to me! Yellowing is bad but the parts should not be stark white either.

Some cars I leave alone, and some cars I have whitened, I like both, If its not to yellowed, but from factory, they were never pure white.

Hard to tell as I remember my first RC10 and it wasn't stark white either, sort of ivory-ish.

On the other hand look how white the graphite RC10 is on the box. I also have some NIP white parts and they are pretty white, whiter than I remember my RC10.

I have some parts that are almost truely white from the factory and yes they are for a buggy. They seem to be made out of a little different material. The other 99% of the nylon parts were never truly white. As for the truck, I am not to sure on the rims. I thought they were supposed to be solid instead of three piece. There is a thread on here talking about the different versions. In the thread Charlie was talking about the different versions but i couldn't figure out the tire combinations. I have a bunch of differnt tires and rims and would like to positively identify what ones go on here.

I'm a little green behind the ears on this site. I cut and pasted the thread but I don't know if it will work.

The topic is " How many versions of the RC10T were there? " It's on the second page of the rc-10 truck forum.

That does explain one of my thoughts. Why would they put universals on a sport truck that comes with bushings. That makes sense.

You had to put that one up  , I'm still green to, I have a post on there, one of my first, I was praying that I would never see it again  I didn't know how to post pic's ATT. I think your truck is a 7011, that somebody added team truck parts to, UJ's ,1 piece rims, rear tires. Your tranny brace should be a graphite, and full bearings, to make it a team. Also I'm not sure if a team came with black arms, but I know one guy who should know, wait around, I hope he can tell us, because I want to know as well.

Well this is what happened. I bought a lot of 2 trucks. The one we have been talking about and this one Also in good condition but ran a few times. When I got them they didn't have any tires and the rims were hpi's with the inner offset. Obviously not original. So basically what I would have to do is switch the shocks and wheels to have a team truck. Oh yes, and the arms.
Like I said before, I have been building these rc's for a long time but never really thought about the technical version by version stock stuff. All my personal RC-10'S and T's are used and have mostly aftermarket stuff on them. I hate taking new parts out of the packs. It almost killed me to take those gold rear shock bodies out of the pack and it was for nothing. Dumb Dumb Dumb Dumb! I want to start getting into the higher end stock buggies and trucks. I see that to do so, I still have a bunch to learn. You guys are good teachers. Thank you.
