Another new Canadian
Hi everybody from the frozen north. Just sort of dipping my toes in the hobby stuff again, now that my kids are starting to pull my old cars down from the shelves and pushing them around the house. Cool to see a forum for the old school AE stuff out there, I have a few beaters and a shelf queen in my collection from a ways back. I didn't realize that there were other collectors out there.

If you didn't realize it before, you'll definitely realize it soon. Your toes might be wet now, but be careful not to get in over your head.

Re: Another new Canadian
What made me sign up was reading about the rerelease of the worlds car on a website and that the originals are sought after. I have an original that was assembled as far as a rolling chassis, but thats it. I was thinking about either gluing the tires and finishing it, or selling, but now I'm not sure that would be a good idea.vintage AE wrote:Welcome Kristian!turbo_bird wrote:I didn't realize that there were other collectors out there.

Sell it to me!
Welcome, lots of crazy Canucks here and really great people here. Trust me - once you start down the dark path of modern RC, forever will it dominate your wallet![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: Another new Canadian
Oh I know. I've only been away from RC for about five years. Before that I worked at my local hobby store almost full time for three or four years, never a pay cheque once. I'm just glad I didn't do anything silly like sell my stuff in a garage sale. I converted a Traxxas Slayer that used to be a Revo to brushless last summer, as well as playing with a brushless Erevo. I guess I better put some pictures in the gallery section of my collection.RC104ever wrote:Sell it to me!![]()

Welcome to the forum from an Albertan. I think a good percentage of us discovered this site after pulling our old RC cars out of dusty boxes and wanting to restore or refurbish--or rebuild/modernize them. And then join the rest of us in spending too much money on toy cars. ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Here's the one that got me to sign up here. Crappy cell phone pic, I'll have to set up to do some decent pics one of these days. Another expensive and time consuming hobby.

Re: Another new Canadian
If it's backwards, its been that way since new. It's a worlds car that has never been run. I bought it just as it sits about 15 years ago, and it's been sitting g on a shelf ever since. Unfortunately the guy that put it together painted the body first.gomachv wrote:Looks like an easy clean up![]()

Re: Another new Canadian
An original Worlds car never ran and put on a shelf for 15 years, that's awesome I think… a shame you didn't run it BID but good now though.
