finally upgraded my charger!
Finally had to ditch the old Protech! Lol! This charger will charge anything I will ever own, but it's going to take me a while to remember all this charging crap!

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
Shouldn't there be a toggle switch for LiPo's on that Protech?
I recently bought a Hitec X1 Touch charger from my friend and I've charged everything from Losi Micro NiMh's to the lead acid battery in my Honda motorcycle.

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
I was going over every pack I have laying around from tamtechs to glow ignitors to sub c packs with every variety of connector- the only connector I don't have on the squid is a 4 pin deans....I can literally charge everything I own. I didn't know they made such a inexpensive charger that would be that universal. I'm sure there are plenty others out there but this was an eye opener for me

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
Congrats! I recently upgraded too went from a Triton charger (great and still use it) to a Hitec X4. Finally I can charge more than one pack at a time but it was a bit scary the first time - thing makes a lot of noise with the fans going

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
I still have my first charger, very similar to that Protech. I have been using a Triton 2 for quite a few years now. Great charger.
I just might upgrade and buy the Hitec X1, looks like a good one, and quite a few years newer than what I have.

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
I have a bunch of old chargers, the Protech was always my favorite tho.
Side note, how many of you remember "Lightning Bolt" chargers? The shop I worked at, still the biggest in Oregon, produced those. They have a bunch of bins with small items for sale in them. They are the old plastic bases of those chargers
I'm sure that very few that work there know that

How many of you still have those alligator-clip resistance wire chargers that you connected to your car battery, back in the NiCad days?

How many of you melted the resistance wires off your suicide chargers?

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
I wrapped mine around a dowel and had a stand that held it. It was scary to use and it didn't take long before I convinced my parents I needed a better charger. The MRC was awesome in its day

I had a 702 back a million years ago. Used to charge in the 7 cell mode for the extra boost when I raced...

I still use the clips from time to time if I'm out somewhere goofing around and need to charge a battery off my car.Coelacanth wrote:How many of you still have those alligator-clip resistance wire chargers that you connected to your car battery, back in the NiCad days?

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
Dang Jeff if I would have known you were using that antique, I would have sent you a charger to use that could charge lipos and everything else that is considered junk lol.

Re: finally upgraded my charger!
I charge batteries so rarely it was never an issue. Now I just look for things to charge! I want an adapter for my shaver, my harmony remote, and my laptop lol!
