It begins for A1003 reproduction
Next week is the first step in getting the ball rolling for new production on A1003 front bulkhead. We are meeting with same people that did the A1101 for us. We will discuss costs and timeline as well as some other stuff that I will mention on here later. I will be looking at feedback back from people through here when the time comes.
So stay tuned for new post next week.

Re: It begins for A1003 reproduction
We had meeting this week. Unfortunately the main guy was out with strep throat he got from his kids. So dropped of the Losi bulkhead and an RPM version.
So this is the first question for people, I will get some pictures up later for people who are not familiar. We can try and make as exact copy of the Losi part as we can or we can make some changes that make it stronger like the RPM version. Of course making stronger has down sides, same reason I say never do aluminum bulkhead. Now you risk other parts that have expensive price tags for replacement. Could make it more likely to break arms or even molded chassis. Though a plastic version is less likely to cause the chassis to break than you might have if you went aluminum.
So are we wanting an exact copy of the Losi version, minus the logo?

My vote is to beef it up. You never want to be the guy that makes the parts that break, even if its done to protect other parts. People are going to buy them because they already broke one, and need a quality replacement. Just my .02

Beef her up! I gave the RPM piece a quick google "wasn't aware it existed", and its lines were close enough to the original for my tastes. Add your flair...and Robert's your mothers brother (bobs yer uncle)

Here are pictures that show the RPM version and some differences. The nose is also a little more blunt. We wouldn't have to make exact copies of each one but maybe an adaption of both designs.

I vote for strength. That way I can "save" all my actual Losi ones. Do you have any feel for a time frame at this point?

Re: It begins for A1003 reproduction
+1 Like GoMachV the opportunity is to have something reliable... if not i’ll keep my aluminium bulkhead with the risks mentionned

So beef it up based on the RPM please!!

Re: It begins for A1003 reproduction
Time frame is unknown right now. The original plan had been to do the Losi version and we had the CAD work all done and 3D printed to test it was all good. But then I thought changing the design to be more like RPM would be a good idea. By the sounds others like this idea as well. So CAD work will have to be adapted for the RPM style. I have no problem with adapting the CAD work. I thought it was good idea and that is why I asked everyone.
I also know that they are busy making molds until about mid October. So that will definitely be a factor in the timeline.
