Anyone just leave the bodies clear

Post by Lizardking »

I don’t think I want to paint them. I’m going to use these as display and use the beat up painted ones for running.

I like leaving them clear sometimes. But I like to use decals too. I’d say at the moment my assortment is 50/50

I paint all of mine, Im down to my last clear no-stamp RC10, just until I come up with another cool era correct paint scheme. I don't like seeing them clear at all, but that's just me.

I only leave them clear until i come up with a paint scheme. I've put some decals on some clear bodies before i've painted them but found that I end up wasting some sweet decals because decals go better after paint. Either that or i don't plan well.

Plus when i see clear bodies it reminds me of the impatient kid that runs it clear and then it gets too torn up to really ever paint. :D

Plus the cool lines and details of the body don't come thru when its clear
Hope you're doin' something fun.

My opinion goes the opposite direction. A clear body on a car is an incomplete project. I can't even stand leaving a wing clear, it's gotta be painted somehow to suit the body paint scheme. I agree with TRX-1-3 about the body lines, even to the point that I'll avoid stickering up a car in favor of a paint job that brings out the body lines somehow. :P

You and me both except me x2 😂 and for this reason many of mine are unpainted.
