I have a Dynamite Twin Tazer I was going to put in it with a set of metal gears but the motor can sits right on the chassis so there's no room for the finned Tazer can.
Dremel fix that right up...?

I'll admit, I didn't spend a lot of time searching. 17 came up a few times.

I just dug through my motors and found a 21x2 Peak Performance 540 that I plan on trying, I'm rebuilding it at the moment. I also have a 23t Orion, Tamiya Sport and Torque Tuned, and several 27t stock motors. I suspect that nearly any of them (maybe not the Tamiya motors) will be an upgrade. I doubt I'll try anything hotter than those.

I did see on YouTube where someone tried a 17t 540. It would overload and shutdown but he also had bigger tires.

I considered it but I would really have to auger out a good-sized trench. Eh, we'll see.

Ever since seeing this, I've been kinda watching for a deal on one.

At full price, I don't think they are a great deal. Not bad, just not spectacular. The price is within striking distance of some 1/10 scale vehicles, like the ECX Amp. At that point, its a no-brainer for me, which is why my son and nephew both have Amps.

I got my 5 yr old an Amp earlier this year, perfect vehicle for a youngin'. I keep the throttle dialed at half way, and I'll slowly dial up the throttle as he grows and gets better at handling it.

BTW, the WLToys 144001 is at $83.99 now. Anyone think the $36.99 price might have been a mishap?

The original price looks to have been updated too.

I don't know. Amazon does similar things. Certain items will be marked way down for a limited time. I've bought a few items that tripled in price within a day.

Lowes does it as well. A friend of mine has gotten lots of power tools very cheap.

Found this video. He disassembled the motor and counted the winds, 17.

I'd take advantage of that if I was in USA. Here in Canada, Walmart sells that buggy for much more, $153 CAD:
