Shock Mounting bushing

Post by JosephS »

I'm looking for information on shock mounting bushing for gold pan rc10's.
It looks like at one point a common style nylon shoulder(plastic bush/step washer) washer was replaced with a custom molded part

Were these types of bushing actually used? The i/d should be .115" for a #4 screw. Does anyone know the overall length and OD and thickness of the flange.

7.56mm =.297" Height (total length) ~19/64"
2.81mm = .110" Thick (flange thickness) ~1/8"
4.75mm= 3/16" shoulder length

6.35mm =.25 OD
4.8 mm= .188" Sleeve OD ~ 3/16"

Thanks. It looks like this may be the closest fit

There are 3D printed ones on Shapeways and Ebay.

If black is fine, Dynotech has some that are like the newer ones.

traxxas are real close to same measurements and maybe easier to find in white if thats the color you're after...

I am interested in the traxxas parts.

When I don't have time to build or drive I like to try and track down the 'original' source of vintage parts and source them from elsewhere. My thought is that many of the original parts would be off the shelf until there was enough demand to make specific parts and molds.

I bought a lot of these a couple years ago. They are very similar to the newer ones on RC10's.

You just have to buy enough stuff to make the shipping worth it.

What is the traxxas part name/number ? Would the white one have the same number?

Traxxas put them in shock rebuild kits. I think #1662 and #2669 both would have them. Yes, traxxas like associated kept the same part numbers when they went from white to black. That's the reason why I thought they'd be easier to find yet but at the same time makes them harder to find I guess :?

Those links you put out there look like an interesting set up if they are the same size. Would be able to bulk order them at least. Might be closer to associated specs also. I used to put the traxxas on my associateds though since it has a longer bottom half so the shocks stood off the tower a couple more mm...and the LHS was traxxas centered over AE.

Well they would be more 'vintage' as Assocaited made some improvements over the running change on those parts. I'm still learning what substitutions work. I have been using Custom Works substitutions . The Custom Works bushings 1408 are a direct replacement for ASC 6473.
