I'm getting an RC body started for my shelf, the body is a Bolink BL2254 63 Corvette Coupe, and it will be a tribute to the movie The Dead Pool, 1988, with Clint Eastwood. The actual movie car body is a Parma #10218, but this will be a tribute, not...

Was able to severely bend that Alclad chrome backed PS-5 scrap, without any separation or damage to the paint.
Going to leave the other body with the X-11 on it, and start over on this new body using exclusively Alclad. Going to be a lot of...
The red/white arrow points to the location on the boxart body where the decal is too wide, and it won't stay stuck to the body. The red arrow shows how the decal bunches up in the rear corners.

Should've paid more attention to the masking lines. Going to have to spray some PS-5 in a small dish, and use a brush to fix those shabby lines.
I really suck at painting. I mean I am terrible. I try but anything more than 1 color and you can bet it is going to look like a 1st grader painted my body shells. The only thing I am worse at is soldering. If I had to paint or solder something to...

I actually use paint pens quite a bit, my wife actually introduced them to me, am sure you could find them on Amazon (i bought mine at Michael’s) everything front thin to fat tipped. Hope that helps.
I have had 5 or 6 Schumacher wings in a row with the overspray film on the side where I normally paint. :? On the first one I thought someone must have loaded the lexan into the press upside down by mistake. Then I got another, and another, and...

I normally use white masking tape, as it still gives you a visual reference for even coverage.
How do you achieve the best results, with lexan scissors (straight or curved), or a sharp hobby knife?

The bionic eyes and Wolverine claw are an awesome combination. Only gripe is that the magnification starts to give me a headache. But repeatedly cutting in the same score line is something I thought was impossible to do. The magic is real.

Anyone know of an example of a body painted in a university style theme? I was looking for some inspiration for a couple of bodies I need to paint (or more accurately, pay someone else to paint because I suck at it)... As an Arizona State Sun Devil,...

I have an old set of Panda Danny Thompson nitro stadium racer decals still on the sheet. These are from the 90's. I'd like to get the body and decals applied, but I'd hate to use them at the same time. Does anyone know a place I can send the decal...

I had a similar need a while back and ended up getting help from the folks over at . They did a fantastic job creating a decal copy of a cherished poster I had from my grandfather featuring the Beatles. It was important for me to preserve that...

My local guy is missing me about and I want to get a couple of shells painted. they aren't anything complicated ( my old colors from the 90's) but where I did they them before I would like to have a proper job done this time.

The bitty design is definitely the best I've used. I tried the proline but it was chunky and this style xacto #10 works good for the compound curves.
Been using #16 blades but a rounded blade does seem to make more sense for curves. I'll...
Here is my first successful paint job with the new airbrush. The first body was a mess, as I did only two coats of liquid mask and it was a mother to peel off.
Anyone have any great advice for painting headlights from the inside of lexan? I have seen a few tips here and there, but I am not in love with the results I am seeing. Just wondering if anyone has a tried and true method.

Hi all
Where I live its hard to get a hold of the tamiya spray paint cans (or any lexan sprays).
I managed to get a hold of 2 cans... (white and blue)
I need to be very careful with the amount I use as these 2 cans need to be enough for 2 cars (1/10...

Per Tamiya, the 100ml can is sized specifically to coat one complete model. I tend to use more when doing pan car bodies, but less when doing buggies.
I have a handful of bodies to paint. One or two I’m thinking of doing a space theme.
Here is my first attempt. I just cannot seem to capture a good picture of it. It’s incredibly metallic. I threw a penny and a quarter on for my planets, and...

Tough call on the decals... Depends on how big they are against the body, but I generally like the look of Associated's logo over PROTOform's.

I've recently purchased an airbrush compressor, with a few airbrushes, tips, hoses, etc. And, since the weather here in WI is less than adequate to paint outdoors, I'm looking to get ideas on how I can set something up in my basement utility room....

My station is temporary, and easy to put up and take down as needed. Most everything just gets thrown inside it, and then it gets thrown under a table. The top of the cabinet is my charging station most of the time.
Does anyone have a way to chrome wheels cheaply and easy???
Last post
Welp, since it's been resurrected.
This isnt perfect chrome, but enough to see a reflection with good primer and only $8-9 at home depot. Only downside is that it is pretty delicate, so a 2k urethane clear coat would help on high-touch parts.
I received this is body so very long ago when I bought some cars off Craigslist. I can’t remember how long I’ve had this body, at least 10 years. I was tired of looking at it in its state so I decided to paint it.

I did a search by the cheapest 1/8 buggy wheels to bash around on at my local clay track. The ones that came up were yellow BMW e36 DS1’s. I had 3 E36 M3’s. So I had to get them and paint them with actual aluminum wheel silver metal flake paint....

Yeah, I'm not too bent about it, but bent enough to be bent. Pretty sure I just came at it a little too aggressive. But at least now I only have to deal with 2.2 tires on 2.15 rims on the rear. Making compromises on a replica pretty much makes it...

I use a pancake compressor for my mini hvlp and have had zero problems with the liquid mask. You spray several light coats letting each coat dry between so it has no problem keeping up.
You would definitely notice issues spraying 2K clear and an...

If wing height is adjustable, I like the wing to be almost in line with the body's roof-line, so airflow over the roof passes more smoothly over the wing. Not sticking up too high or hanging back too far.
