Well I’ve really neglected any vintage related projects lately due to my so called life(I mean the real thing, not the tv show

). Sorry

. Anyway, another classic r/c blunder. I didn’t think fitment would be an issue, but clearly I was wrong. Murphy’s Law(again, the real thing, not the tv show)seems to have taken over from the start of this project and never released it’s icy grip. This shell will work fine as long as I don’t want to do anything crazy like…oh…I dunno…STEER or GO FORWARD!!

Oh well, as Thomas Edison once said “I never failed, I simply came up with 10,000 ways not to make a light bulb.” or something like that. I love the shape of this body, it just doesn’t fit the oddball assortment of parts in this project.
Anyway, does anyone have any other body ideas? It doesn’t have to be a truck I guess(although if I switch it now I’d be in clear violation of the truck forum). 11” long and 9 and ¾” wide are the rough measurements(I was going to use the ‘ symbol to pay soft unspoken homage to Spinal Tap, but thought better of it.)from center tire each way.
Ponder your thoughts while I go watch Hot Tub Time Machine again. If that doesn’t help with the retro thought then nothing will. Would’ve been nice if the director had worked a nice r/c rivalry in there, but it probably would have confused most movie-goers…
