Hi!
Thought I should share this find with you guys. Bought it for about $60 just before christmas. It came 100% complete (radio box not in pics) along with unpainted original body. Quite a rare find! I´m far too unpatient to take pics during restoration so I only have pics of the finished car. Not completely sure if I chose a good colour for the body, but I think it will look nice when the decals come in place.
edit: Oh yes, I know I put one of the rear tires the wrong way
That looks fantastic. $60 is an incredible deal.
The body color is great... very period correct. I had several day-glo orange buggies bitd.
Please post more pics once the decals are on.
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.
Jeff
Thank you guys! It really was a find. It was the condition of the car that made me happy. Would have paid double or triple (or even more) for a 566B in this state.
I´m really a box art kind of guy, but with this it wasnt easy to find box art
(not my pic)

Great find this is the only AYK buggy I have left to find to finish my AYK offroad buggy collection. I have picked up every other ayk kit but this model has been tuff to come by. Congrats on the find and welcome to the forum cheers,Chris
That is a very nice buggie. I have one as well but not in that good of shape, but close...Did you apply the decals on it yet? I am curious to see some more pictures of it...
Nice car! I bought one of those at a yard sale for next to nothing back in the 80s, could never get the mechanical speed control set up right, pronounced it "junk," and traded it for a Kyosho Raider... had i known then what I know now...
I´ve always been fascinated by the looks of the gearbox on the 566b, so of course I had to have one. For racing, I´d pick the Scorpion over it anyday, but still a very cool and iconic buggy. The main issues with the 566b, now a days, are the price...

I like the radio tray idea. It will look racier 8) radio boxes hide all the pretty electronics
i just picked up a near mint ayk super trail bison, the body is in great shape but the paint is flaking terriably. looks like someone used normal paint instead of lexan paint. anyways will the sg coyote body fit it . or anyideas on how to get the...

The AYK Super Trail for the serious racer. I'm not so sure what was super about it. December 1982 - RCM

Very interesting front shock setup. Actually looks like it's great for the CG.
I own of these gems and I can tell you it's heavy as hell and the CG was obviously not a concern when they designed it. It's a lovely and very original car, I will try...
AYK's first off-roader, the Super Trail, was introduced in 1982 and offered as a Baja Bison buggy and American Pickup model. Constructed primarily of aluminum the Super Trail rode on a square tube aluminum ladder frame chassis with tubular cage...
So I picked this up at a Swap meet a few weeks back. Pretty cool RC and rare. Chassis rails are broken but looking to see if I can find used ones. I sent an e-mail to InetRc to see if they can help me out. So far I have not heard back from them. I...

I have a AYK 566B Super Trail in very good condition, but I miss the two spotlights for the roof (and the lexan driver). I guess these spots are close to impossible to get hold of, so if anyone with a Super Trail could shoot me some good images of...
