Plus how have you tuned your radio and or your speed controller to each other, or what set-up have you went through so far?jwscab wrote:How are you connecting the three wires on the ESC? Do you get any servo operation?
Re: Ok need help.......please
Ok three wires
One red Batt + connected to pos battery terminal with another wire soldered to this wire connecting to the pos motor terminal
One blue batt - connected to neg battery terminal
One blue motor - connected to neg motor terminal
all this = steering servo working as it should, motor works in reverse,
now if I switch the motor wires around the does not move as if it's locked up but the servo still works as it should,
tried two different Speed controllers same result.
p.s sorry for the vague posts above........

Re: Ok need help.......please
I think I had a similar problem with an EZRun-style ESC & Flysky GT3B transmitter. Even changing the wires, I wasn't getting a proper forward motor rotation. Check your transmitter manual to see how to configure it to reverse the throttle; old radios had a switch to reverse a particular servo's direction, but the newer radios have this adjusted in their software.
If you can do that, then go through the process to reprogram your ESC again.

Re: Ok need help.......please
If the motor runs (in reverse) when you try to go forward on the radio, then it is the motor leads that are swapped. Servo reversing would make the same motor action but on the opposite throw of the radio, ie pushing the brake would make the motor run. If you have the motor hooked up per the tiny marks on the end bell, and it is going reverse, I am thinking the timing is off. Have you had the end bell off? If the timing is far enough off it may have a hard time trying to go one direction which may be why it runs one way but not the other. Look for timing marks.

Re: Ok need help.......please
there are TWO blue wires for negative connections? That doesn't sound right.
all the pictures of mtronics speed controllers I see show a blue and a black. the black should be battery, the blue should be motor. Be sure they are connected properly, if not, it won't work.
as other suggested, it sounds like you may need to reverse the throttle channel, and go through a setup procedure for endpoints and braking.

Re: Ok need help.......please
On a fwd only esc it is electronically impossible for the reversing switch to effect motor direction
We need clarity on your dilemma. Are you saying the motor spins the wrong direction when you gove throttle or does it go the right direction when you apply the brake

Re: Ok need help.......please
but what exactly is backwards, the motor direction, or the direction of the control? stick forward, car goes backwards and vice versa. he's quite vague of the actual problem in my opinion.

Exactly...he said the car won't "move forwards", which seems to imply it can move backwards--or even sideways, up & down.

Gomachv has solved it the motor is at fault either timing or just plain knackered,
I had skimmed and cleaned the motor as well as putting new brushes in, will have to tune it.
Attached another motor and had no problems.............I can swap the motor wires around to get the motor going in the right direction like I thought I should, was just the motor making me look a fool lol

Re: Ok need help.......please
Check the timing on the motor if it is adjustable. Or take a pick showing the mounting holes at the shaft end and an imaginary line running to the other end of the can, I bet it is off a ways
