Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I picked up 2 sets of used 1/12 pan car wheel thinking they would fit an RC12L I restored, however when I received them it turns out that the fronts have a hex and the rears are 2-bolt but the bore fits a 10mm bearing, quite a bit of wobble on 3/8" bearings.
I thought maybe for that 1/12 kyosho pancar but the instruction manual for that shows hex rears.
what are these for?

the rears look like they are for 12l, but the bore is metric. because of this The wheels don't center on the hub.

Can someone id the front arms on the AYK radiant in the video (right at the beginning)? I'd like to have a similar setup on mine but I have no idea what car these are from.

We figured it out, the 8th scale is a Robotronics Mantis. Apparently it's a European thing, since most of what I find on the interwebs is German.

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Hey guys...
I was helping my brother move over the weekend and came across this guy in one of his garage boxes. I bought it probably 20 years ago at the local hobby shop. I think I gave it to him way back then to use as a street basher. I want to say its a PR7 but am not certain. I did buy it new, it was sold as the chassis with the rear pod and that fiberglass standoff I have the associated arms mounted to. I got my rc racing start running 1/10 scale on road back in the late 80s, I ran a bolink eliminator, followed by a 10L later. We used to run a class we called prostock which was any pan car on 6 cells and a Tamiya 540, lots of fun on the cheap...I miss that sooo much! lol Anyhow, there was a guy that ran in that class with a car just like this, I had no idea at all what it was, but was fascinated by the fact that while all the other guys were moving to more pan car componenets via floating pods, multi shock rear set ups and belt drives back then, this guy was running a non suspended car and was very competitive with it. Anyhow, is this a PR7? or a clone? The pod has a cobra left side, the rest of the car was pieced together from my parts bin 20 years ago.
Thanks guys, and sorry for the story, but this find brought me back a bit!

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
I've only ever seen pics of one PR7 and it was in RCCA so I can't say if that's one or not but it sure is sexy!

Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread
Thanks, I think its pretty cool too. I'm gonna try and get it cleaned up and mount a new body on it soon. I haven't seen many 230mm bodies online, so I'm not 100% on what I'm gonna use. I believe I had a Daytona IROC body on it long ago. Any ideas on removing 25 year old servo tape

Start with heat, WD-40 and if nothing else use a razor to shave it down then try the WD-40 again
