Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Did a test print of the front wheel. Came out pretty well although i should have just waited till I removed the tires off of my old wheels because I was too small on the bead width with my guess.
I wish I had a brighter color of PETG on hand. Not sure if I want to do Red or go with Orange in the end. Personally I feel Orange goes with the body better than the Red did.
Maybe a bit of a reverse color scheme lol

They look nice , the writing came out well .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
It's not perfect but really good especially since this is with a 0.4 nozzle. Takes me about 2.5hrs to print each front wheel and little less than 3.5hrs for each rear. the undersides are a little rougher due to support interfaces. I also doubled the amount of "spokes" in the back since printed wheels aren't as durable as injection molded ones. Should be ready to rock now.
Anyhow the full set is printed, I also ordered some Red PETG fulfillment for later as well.
Link to thingiverse @WriteDean is /thing:5496717 (sorry it wasn't letting me post the URL) Shapeways will come a bit later when i figure all that out.
I'm pretty happy overall with these. We'll see how well they hold up in the coming weeks.
Also, I printed out @clm's front bumper and it came out great and fit pretty well

I've had pretty good luck with printed wheels , good for a set of tires anyway , don't expect to use them a second time though .

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Thanks, I actually decided to see what it'd look like with the lip panted too. Looks neat when spinning and gives it a bit of contrast with the tires.
Also, I do have the wheels on Shapeways now. I've ordered a set myself we'll see how they turn out.
I'm not sure if it'll be orderable till I get mine but you can search "Mini JRX2 "Pro" Wheel set 1/16 Buggy" or my username "RogueIV"
Also got my red filament in going to print out some belcranks and an antenna holder probably next week.
oh the mini mod motor came in too. Now It just needs a retro sticker.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Wheels on Shapeways are always way to expensive in 1/10 but in this scale probably much more reasonable .

Yeah they are still kinda pricey even in this scale.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Maybe stick the file on Cults3d , you still get some penny's and folks can print them however they want , I did that for the PB Mini Mustang chassis and will add the Samurai chassis as they are just too expensive on Shapeways .

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Looks so much better now with proper decals (MCI 1/16 scale), wheel nuts, open end bell motor and a yelling antenna.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Orange because i feel it goes better with that paint scheme and I intend to use those ones for actual races. I am printing a set of red ones myself at some point soon though for my replica JRX Pro I'll be building.BattleTrak wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:08 am What color did you order from shapeways? Got my Factory Works 1/16 shock towers for the LXT and JRX Pro They look fantastic and fit up to the bulkheads perfectly. Some mock up photos:

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I don't have enough posts to see the FS forum but I'll take one, I should be at RCM on Thursday barring an unforeseen late work day.WriteDean wrote: ↑Sun Sep 11, 2022 11:12 am Hey All - Selling these 2 Reedy Moni Mod motors - https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=47702&p=542124#p542124
