The videos look like things go wonky a while after initial launch. Maybe faster launches could be done with a cinder block and less powerful first stage motors ... making it crash differently?

For something rocket powered, a front wing or nose wedge might be more important than a back wing.

Problem with that is the less powerful engines have a short burn time....making the 2nd stage come in quick, overpowering it...the whole deal right now is very confusing trying to dial it in...I can throw a single F which is very powerful and go right down Broadway....A to B every lap....but I can only go 72 to 80mph with it...that's just not gonna cut it...I will figure it out, but it won't be easy or cheap...going with much different rear tires next time, much more grip....also ordered a new Spektrum 6100 AVC gyro receiver to keep it more stabilized...testing will resume later this weekend after it comes in...I will put enough fire power in to go 100mph...whether it goes straight or not, will see

Yup...I have researched those...composite vs black powder...big power!...once I get a handle on this I will likely go that route for big power, simple runs!

That car just needed better tires. 😁

Once last test run in morning with dual engines, then going back to single engine....the 2nd stage is turning the car...even at 50mph...just so much thrust....this morning didn't go well...wet road wasn't the issue, tires weren't the issue...

Thinking on the nose here ( and sensibly ) but the chassis is pretty basic in design , I know that's half the challenge but if you had a chassis designed better to handle <100 mph in the first place ...... Thing is that only very modern RC cars have ever been designed with that in mind .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.

That would defeat the purpose unfortunately.
