Hi all,

This is one of my current projects, coming along nicely I think but not yet finished.

I would like to use an RPM transmission case, but that will require some work on the housing to make it fit.

You just have to love the look of the translucent RPM parts..!!!

Cheers,
HtG

PS: Is there a way how the pictures can be rotated?

I think it has to do with size of the photo. When you click on the photo it is orientated correctly.

Anybody know of a contemporary body that fits this chassis?

From what I remember reading that others have posted,
It was designed to use a Team Losi JRX Pro SE body.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

Jason (Scr8p) modified an RPM case to fit the narrow chassis. If I recall, he got dangerously close to breaking through the case in a few spots. I don't think his pictures were lost or anything so you should be able to dig them up.

I didn't notice it before, but I really like the look with the MRP tires. Good choice!

Lovely MIP shock bodies. :)

With the RPM rear shock tower the Losi Jrx Pro SE body is ideal. With a standard RC10 tower you can run other bodies even though they are a tad wider. I like the look of chopping the rear of the body off after the tower. For the front you really need to cut quite a bit to get it to fit under the front tower.

The translucent white RPM tranny is geared at 2.65:1 and was meant to be used in a truck. I get why people put them on buggies, but the Stealth is the ideal and period correct option. I like hopped up Stealth's that have Thorp 64P gears, Mip outdrives, Hydra-Drive, etc.

How did these compare to the tubs and graphite chassis on the racetrack?

From what I remember, they were kinda late to the game. The B2 and other advanced buggies weren't too far in the future.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Edit*
Just look at RPMtesters comment(s)

Would have been interesting if RPM could have gone the Traxxas route and kept going with kits.

Really depended on the track...the buggy was designed off of the associated worlds version and was well suited for rough and loose tracks common at that time. I raced for RPM and was very successful with the car racing stock and mod in the NORRCA series...but as tracks changed to hardpack, the longer travel car was slightly slower to react. I developed the steering enhancement kit, made a one off front shock tower and limited the shocks in an effort to keep up. In the updated configuration, the car worked very well but the new pro level cars from Associated and Losi were a little better out of the box and demand for the chassis kit diminished.
