Edinger RC10 worth 600, never run?
I have a chance to buy what the owner claims is a never run, Edinger RC10 with box and everything with it, motor and electronics still in bags. Only the body had been painted. His pictures support this claim, but wondering if worth the 600 dollar asking price.
It's A stamped and a dark color gold so I know it's not the earliest edinger, but does this car support the box? Or am I being faked out?
Hopefully the pictures will load, not sure how on this forum, as I am new here. Thanks everyone.

Re: Edinger RC10 worth 600, never run?
Welcome. We don't do value estimates on this site, so it's worth what you're willing to pay.
It looks like a very nice earlier RC10. I can't tell from the pictures for certain if its a bearing car like the box says, but the left side of the gearbox and front wheel look like it might be.
There us a lot to like there. The only thing I don't like is the paint job, but that's really a minor thing. I also don't see the manual but it looks like at least one of the photos didn't load.

Both battery cups and hold-downs, don’t see them in any of the pics.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

Here is more pictures. Many things are in packages and all the parts seem to be there. Perhaps the white things there that look square are the battery cups? I know I see the steering servo mounts. The driver figure and wing have not been painted and motor and electrics all seem to be there in bags and all manuals.MarkyDents wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 10:45 am Both battery cups and hold-downs, don’t see them in any of the pics.

Looks pretty nice.
Do the tires have blank sidewalls (no branding?).
And the motor label should have Edinger address.

It's a nice find, and a complete looking car.
We still aren't going to value it.
edit: there is a facebook group that is a kinda spin-off of this forum, and even has the same name. This same question is asked and answered over there constantly.

I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.

Yes the white rectangle parts are the battery cups.
Looks like you’ve found a wonderful example.
It’s ready for some hardcore shelf duty.
Is that your intention ??

Re: Edinger RC10 worth 600, never run?
He sent me some pics of that. The motor does say 1928 endiger road or something, hard to see in pic. The tires don't appear to have any branding label and the fronts are 4 ribs.
I dont care of it's a very early model....I believe this is like around 86 or 88 era, all I wanted is a nice rc 10 gold pan.

Re: Edinger RC10 worth 600, never run?
To me 600 for a complete old RC10 that really hasn't been run and is in almost excellent shape... I better get it now or never. 600 is steep, but I know I'll regret it if I don't get it. Looking around the web for can get these parts sed for 250-350, so one that is never run should be worth a bit more I'd say. So to me 600 is great and I already sent the money. We are meeting half way in a few weeks.

Re: Edinger RC10 worth 600, never run?
Shelf duty yes...I don't see any sense in running this when I can get a used one to fix up for casual beach runs. The only thing with this one is the body was painted. I'll have to find another so I can do box art. The driver and wing have not been painted though.MarkyDents wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 11:28 am Yes the white rectangle parts are the battery cups.

This one looks like it checks all the boxes for a nice unused RC10.

That's what I hoped for and made this sudden post. I had to decide within hours.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 12:37 pm This one looks like it checks all the boxes for a nice unused RC10.
I appreciate it a lot.
I didn't want to spend that chunk of money, but it seems to be well worth getting the car that always made me drool at the track back when I was a kid. I'm used to race my Kyosho raider with guys running these RC10 lol... hey...I did pretty good tho with my raider.

Mid to Late Edinger, I would say 1985.
Check your Parts List Catalog, it will have a date inside (even though that can vary a lot).
And you may be able to strip the paint off of that body. Early bodies were nice and thick.

NOS Protech bodies with wavy window nets still surface on eBay in case you wanted to grab one. Nice buggy.

Nice find. It’s a chunk of change for sure but if you were really looking to have a complete kit it sure saves a lot of time to find everything in one lot like this.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing the rebuild pictures of this.
