RC10 RPM Ultramold

Post by Lavigna »

This is a full RPM Ultramold made from all new parts. Everything is OG. I've got it pretty close to where I want it, just a few changes and additions to go. I'm also deciding on a body.

To me, these cars never look right with the Stealth cases, so I modified the plastics to fit the RPM transmission. I'm not sure if I will be adding more electronics as it looks so clean without. The no tire look is growing on me.

I can understand the no tires thing. This is such a phenomenal piece. However, deep down, you know you gotta put tires on it. Or, at least, two "O"-rings per rim, as I've seen lately.

Boggling of the mind occurring (due to the incredibleness of the build)
Hope you're doin' something fun.

WOW, just WOW

Now may I suggest the Losi Jrx2 Pro SE body for this build? I believe the ultramolded was actually intended for that body.

Thanks buddy! Yes, I went back and forth on a few tire options and wasn't sold on any. I thought it looked good just rims for now, but I will have to chose something.

Question - Do all the HPI 5 star rear rims for buggies have a smaller diameter? The tires I wanted to use on the rear didn't fit because the rear rims are a smaller diameter.

The era correct hpi wheels are all 2.0. They later made some 2.2 I believe for the Kyosho super nitro cars which would likely have the correct offset but are a 12mm hex and would not be era correct. Check part number 3032.

I have a super nitro, I can pull a wheel later and get you measurements if you'd like.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Thanks for the information. It looks as though those wheels may have a different finish from what I currently have. More smooth unlike the rough finish of mine.

It may be worth a try though.

I have a beautiful painted Andy's Pro Arrow body that I'm going to see if it fits. If not, the SE body will be the choice.

Stunning build as usual dude 8)
I really do like the Pro Arrow idea, wasn’t there a Hot Bodies body for Losi that was out during the same time as the Stealth Fighter and Stealth Bomber for the RC10 that was sharp looking piece ?
I’m wracking my brain trying to think of the name of it….
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

The RPM 10T front spindles are a nice touch.

Yeah, thanks. It's an upgrade to the upgrade.

Looks awesome. How do these compare weight-wise to a regular buggy? I would kinda guess lighter but it's kinda hard to imagine since I've only had experience with much smaller amounts of RPM material. Just curious.
