Turbo Ultima update?
Turbo Ultima update?
I just dug out a bunch of my old cars that we used to race back in the late 80's early 90's and I want to get my Turbo Ultima running again. What I want to do is find out what 2.2 wheels and tires will work on it and if there is a readiy available body/wing that I can use that will fit and look good. If I remember correctly I was lurking in here a year or so ago and someone mentioned a current Tamiya body that looked very similar to the original and fit very well too, but I cant find the post.
Oh yea, I found this(Sideways) in the box too, along with a couple of top plates another chassis a few a-arms, hubs, steering blocks, ball diff, several sets of internal and external gears and a whole bunch of swaybars in various diameters!

for bodies, you have original and the turbo.. for the original you will need a rollcage too.

Re: Turbo Ultima update?
its in my first link for the tamiyaclub site, the new ultima rb5 wheels are hex front. u need to convert the setup to run new wheels.
if other wheels fit im not sure to be honest. since i run a rb5 it was nice to be able to share wheels amongst the cars

Re: Turbo Ultima update?
I think you're looking for the sand viper body.

Personally I find the desert gator a better fit. The nose section of the desert gator covers the topplate entirely, sand viper doesn't.

further down the thread you'll see I'm using sand viper wheels in front and back too. All you need to mount the front wheels is 4 5x10mm bearings and a set of tamiya/ultima axles from CRP (still available form their ebay-shop)
